Director’s Note:For obvious reasons, this show has been different than any other I have directed. But I’d like to tell you about the less obvious reasons. When we started rehearsals, I told the cast they needed to be ready in two weeks - memorized and all material learned. This is a lofty goal for any cast and at first I wondered if it would push them too hard. After all, half of our cast has never done a show before. I was amazed every night as each person came prepared and ready to work hard. The individuals who make up this show are truly fantastic and I feel so blessed to have joined them on this journey. It has been the most joy-full and fun experience. Thank you to my cast for taking on the challenge and rising to it - beating the odds in spectacular ways. Thank you to my crew for standing beside me, sharing your wisdom, and giving your all to this production. Thank you to all who believe and who clap for fairies to live. Because of your faith and your determination to share your hope and love, we are still here today. Thank you for joining us in Never Never Land. - Nashelle Jackson

ALICIA SMITH Noodler“This caffeine-dependent life form is the result of a nat 20. Aside from shoving me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible, everyone involved in Peter Pan has taught me to always give 100% (unless you are donating blood). Life is too short to spend it reading a bio, go make some memories!”
ANINA PEACOCK Peter Pan“Peter Pan is an amazing musical, and I’ve loved being a part of it. This is my second onstage musical at Vernal Theatre: LIVE, the first being Jane Eyre in February. This show has really stretched me as a performer as well as a person. Always remember to “think of lovely things and your heart will fly on wings.” Enjoy!”
ANN BARKER Indian / Jane“This is my second performance with Vernal Theatre: LIVE. I’m a stay at home mother of four kids with another one on the way. My favorite thing about Peter Pan is that it has a lot of fun one liners.”
BRANON ROCHELLE StarkeyBranon is originally from Vernal. He enjoys 21 years of married bliss to his high school sweetheart, Terierose, and they have 3 kids, 2 cats, and a bunch of pet snakes. This is Branon’s third play and he’s glad he loves being a scalawag :-)
BRYCE POULSON 1st Twin“I am fifteen and this is my second musical. I have been in many small plays in the past. I love to act because it is my way of forgetting my worries and escaping to other worlds.”
CADE MARSHALL 2nd Twin“I never really thought that I would be a part of a theater. But that all changed last year when my friend signed me up for the school play without my knowing. Ever since, theater has been a part of me. Other than that, I love my sports!! Including basketball and cross country. But mostly I enjoy being with my friends and family.”
CAST BIOS
MALAYNA SMUIN Tiger Lily / ShadowAt five years old, Malayna first began to discover her love for the music-filled world through dance. For years, Malayna’s passion has grown as she explores ballet, pointe, jazz, hip-hop, and cheer. In the summer of 2019, Malayna was part of High School Musical JR at Vernal Theatre: LIVE where she played “Gabriella Montez”. Since then, she was part of Uintah High School’s production of Elf the Musical and now Peter Pan. She has enjoyed all of her time in the theatre and looks forward to many more shows.
MIKE SISTO Michael DarlingMike would like to thank Vernal Theatre: LIVE for the opportunity to be in his fourth production. He is grateful to be part of such a vibrant and exuberant cast. This show allowed him a chance to not grow up and show others pure joy in the little things. He is thankful for his wife and hopes she knows she helped him be the strong man for her and his family.
SHELDON WALTON Nana / SmeeAfter many years of mystery musical performances and stand up comedy amongst friends, this is Sheldon’s first real theatrical production. Brought on last minute from his brother and finally realizing that maybe this might be fun, the audition commenced. This is the first of, hopefully, many other productions involving this new-to-the-stage actor. Also, he likes to party!
ZACH WALTON Slightly“My career as a movie star in Hollywood left me feeling empty. I decided to move back to my hometown of Vernal to find myself. My journey led me to Vernal Theatre: LIVE! To all my fans out there, thanks for always believing in me! Thanks to Jessica, Bryce, Hailey, Makayla, and Logan for pushing me out of my comfort zone.”

COURTNIE BARTHOLOMEUSZ IndianCourtnie is so excited to be in her first Vernal Theatre: LIVE production. In Oregon, she played “Lilly” in Annie at school and an “orphan” in the community performance of Annie. Courtnie loves acting and the arts and is a very talented artist. She loved performing at Carnegie Hall with her high school choir last year.
DEREK HOPPER CeccoDerek attended the School of Creative and Performing Arts in San Diego, California. He has performed in more the 40 stage productions since the age of eleven. Some of his favorite roles include: “Harold Hill” - Music Man, “Tommy Albright” - Brigadoon, “Rolf Gruber” - The Sound of Music, “Dentist” - Little Shop of Horrors and “Motel Kamzoil”- Fiddler on the Roof. Derek was also the lead show announcer for “Muscle Beach” at Sea World of San Diego. Derek is the General Manager of UB Media, publisher of the Vernal Express, Uintah Basin Standard and Basin Nickel Ads.
DEREK MEANEA John Darling“I’m so excited to be in my first musical ever! This has been quite the journey, let me tell ya. It’s like some sort of Virus attacked and ruined our rehearsals or something. But this was a journey I’ll never forget! Thank you Vernal Theatre: LIVE for an amazing experience!”
DES RIMER Indian“I’m very grateful to be a part of this production and to hangout with this beautiful cast! My favorite animals are bats, hyenas and polar bears. I play the drums, collect crystals and will never turn down a Diet Coke.”
EMILY ANNE WALKER Wendy DarlingEmily is thrilled to have this opportunity to play her dream role of “Wendy”. Peter Pan is a story that has meant a lot to her for her entire life--one that brings out the magic of childhood and teaches us to believe in fairies. She hopes you will feel that magic tonight! Thanks to her husband, Rick, for being the best, and to you for coming to the show!
ERIN WATKINS Mrs. DarlingErin is thrilled to be a part of this show that has long been one of her favorite stories. She loves the magic of theatre and is excited for everyone to experience this show. She hopes it will bring some magic, joy, and lovely thoughts to everyone who see it. “Just think of lovely things and your heart will fly on wings forever in Never Never Land!” - Peter Pan
JACKSON MEANEA Tootles“This is my first VT:L performance. I have loved working with this wonderful group of overgrown children. We worked hard to get this production where it is, and I hope it’s as enjoyable to watch as it is to perform.”
JAY HASLEM Mr. Darling / Captain Hook“Though this has been the weirdest rehearsal run of my life: gone the first week, practiced for two weeks, pandemic shut down the world, attempted to rehearse on ZOOM...it also has been a great honor to play the “Dastardly Devilish Captain James Hook(and Mr. Darling)”. I love the story of Peter Pan and I am excited for you to see it. Word of advice...when the boy Peter Pan asks the audience to “clap your hands” I say.. “Nay. Do not clap for that fairy. She is too noisy!”
JEFF ALLEN Mullins“The details of my life are quite inconsequential. My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium. My mother was named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. I enjoy making myself laugh and if others laugh too, that’s a bonus.”
JESSE BARKER Curly“I love to dance and sing. I was once in a show choir that taught me the value of friendship. I’m glad for the friendships I’ve developed with this cast. I’m glad I’m able to join my wife Ann in the cast for Peter Pan.”
KRISTIN MEANEA Jukes / Grown up WendyKristin is thrilled to be on stage again at Vernal Theatre: LIVE. Being a part of this show with her boys has been an absolute joy. She is grateful to have this opportunity to bring some joy into this crazy world. She would like to thank her family for their love and support.
LILY WILSON LizaLily is just about as silly and unpredictable as “Liza” in real life, the spectrum of her pastimes going from reading romances to riding motorcycles! Lily is very involved with Student Government, Orchestra and piano, but decided to take on a show at Vernal Theatre: LIVE this year despite her busy schedule. She has loved every minute of it and hopes for more opportunities to do many more productions with Vernal Theatre in the years to come!
