Pathfinders' CampoutBy Phyllis Zimmerman

Fall campout this year turned into awinter campout as our Pathfinders spentthe weekend at Pathfinder Village atbeautiful Glacier View Ranch. Thiscampout our Pathfinders met up with thePike's Peak Pathfinder club for aweekend of worship and honor stations. The clubs combined meals for Sabbathevening and Sabbath lunch as well asshare staff responsibilities for the honorstations. Some of the stations that both Pathfinder clubs went through were fire building, furniture making, campfire cooking, and ax and knife safety. For our combined Sabbath

service, the rain held off as we all circled the campfireto sing and worship together. An exciting andinteractive sermon was given by Pastor AlexRodriguez as he acted out several scenes thatrevealed this year's Rocky Mountain ConferencePathfinder theme, "I AM". The Pathfinders wereactively engaged in listening, searching, and sharingthe stories acted out. Although it rained on and offthroughout the day and snow showed up on Sundaymorning, both camps of

kids and staff had a great time! Lots of fun memories were made around the campfire thatkept us warm and moral up! We look forward to camping again in the spring.

January Evangelistic Meetings

By Edwin Bravatti

I am excited that our church has taken the initiative to move forward in a more forcefulmanner to reach our community for Christ. I believe that Jesus is coming soon. The closerHe gets, the more we are going to see changes in our lives, in our families, in our churches,in our communities, and in the entire world. We are definitely living in a prophetic era wherewhat was said by the prophets is being fulfilled. I would like to let you know that I will be launching an evangelistic series starting inJanuary. This will take place once a week in my home. Anyone in our church is welcome tojoin; but, there is a but: if you plan to come, you have to bring a non-Seventh-day Adventistmember as a guest. The point I am trying to make is that God has given us this beautifulcommunity and we are responsible to let them know about our Lord Jesus. Please pray forthis event and all the events and projects that are in place right now. May the Lord bless us abundantly as we move in His direction.

School News

HMS Outdoor School 2017 During the annual Outdoor School, 5th - 8th grade students from HMS RichardsElementary, Springs Adventist Academy, and Cañon City Four Mile Adventist Schoolreflected on the theme, "Be Still and Know that I am God." The three-day event at GlacierView Ranch was planned by Paul Bragaw, 5th-6th grade teacher at HMS RichardsElementary. "Outdoor school is a time for students to get away from life's distractions, disconnect fromtechnology, and reconnect with God in nature," said Bragaw. "We use activities to teachteam-building and outdoor skills. It helps students be safe and confident in the outdoors.

And of course, we have fun!" In one activity this year, students spent six to eight hours walking over ten miles in searchof 26 tennis balls hidden in various locations around GVR. At each location teams prayedfor someone or something specific and then had 30 seconds of silence in prayer. Even after this event, the students still had energy. Carli Olsen, 8th grader, said, "Playingcapture the flag that night after dark was my favorite part!" Students learned to deepen their walk with God through each activity and challenge. "When we had worship, we sat outside and took some time to just think and be quiet aswe talked to God. That was really powerful for me," said Christine Eagan-Foster, 8thgrade student. We are thankful for the continued efforts of Paul Bragaw, teachers, and parents at HMSRichards to include the outdoors as part of a complete Christian education.
