NEW HAMPSHIRESNOWMOBILE TRAILS
WINTER 2012
From the New Hampshire Bureau of Trails There are more than 7,000+ miles of well-maintained snowmobile trails in New Hampshire for your riding pleasure. Our trail system exists because of the partnerships between the landowners, the local snowmobile clubs, the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association, the Bureau of Trails, and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Dept. The snowmobile club’s volunteers are responsible for the majority of the trail maintenance on our trail system. Portions of the snowmobile registration fees support trail maintenance, grooming equipment purchases, safety education, and law enforcement efforts on the trail system.
The private landowners throughout the state who have generously allowed their property to be used for this great winter sport is why you have the expansive trail system for the sport that you love. Stay on marked trails and respect the landowner’s property and property rights, pay attention to warning signs, watch for groomers, and… Enjoy the Ride!
Trail Conditions are update on Tuesday and Fridays from December 15th to the end of March.

Fish & Game Conservation Officers patrol snowmobile trails on snowmobiles and
use hand-held radar units.
Safe Snowmobiling is the Best Snowmobiling!Use “Extreme Caution” on the lakes and ponds!
There are many “multi-use trails” in the state, so you could see cross-country skiers, snowshoers, hikers, and sled dog activity. Please ride with caution for everyone’s safety and, remember… keep to the right while riding the trails.
Also, please pay close attention to the Warning Signs, Speed Limit Signs, Stop Signs, and the new Permitted Signs for legal riding areas.
There are over 200 trail groomers in the state. A groomer travels at an average speed of only 5-8 MPH. Riders need to use “extreme caution” on the trails and always be on the lookout for groomers. Many of the grooming machines are exceptionally wide and long, so you as the snowmobiler need to give the right-of-way, and always slow down when approaching the groomer.

All trails depicted on this map may be rerouted or closed for safety, maintenance, or any other reason without prior notice.
Beware that trail conditions change daily.

Winter ATV Use: Use of snowmobile trails by ATVs is at the discretion of the landowner. Some designated summer ATV trails are closed during winter months. Many of the designated snowmobile trails in New Hampshire State Parks and Forests, and in the White Mountain National Forest, are open for winter ATV use, with sufficient snow cover and when the trail is being maintained and groomed for winter travel. When in doubt, contact the local ATV Club, Snowmobile Club and/or the NH Bureau of Trails.
THANK YOUThe NH Mushers Association would like to thank all the snowmobile clubs for the privi-lege of letting us use their trails in the winter.
A Message from the NHSA PresidentI would like to welcome all snowmobilers to the magnificent splendor of New Hampshire’s scenic snowmobile trail system. Our network of over 7,000 miles of trails offers something for everyone. From the densely wooded trails of the northern forests to the abandoned rail lines along the seacoast, panoramic views and memorable riding experiences are around every corner. As president of the New Hampshire Snowmo-bile Association (NHSA), I take great pride not only in our state’s extensive trail system, but also in the clubs and volunteers that have made it all possible. Please support one or more of our 113 members clubs by joining as an active member or donating to their trail funds. As you ride, remember to have respect for the land and landowner, practice your safe riding practices and use common sense to ride within your own skill level. Enjoy your riding and remember all of those past and present that have created this opportunity for you.Russ Davis, Jr, President
