Dear Children, This half term I thought I would write to you weekly with some of the school news and updates. You are all capable readers and I am sure that for some of the younger children you could find an adult to read this to you or an older brother or sister! Reading this could take the place of reading your usual reading book. You could even record reading this in your reading record! I know your parents receive the newsletter, but it is quite nice for you to receive one too! Firstly, I would like to say a huge well done to everyone for their hard work this week with their online learning. You should be very proud of yourselves. I have been very impressed with the work coming in and in particular the writing that some of you have been doing. It is not easy to be motivated to write at home, so keep this up and remember to write in your books with the same presentation that you would if you were writing in your book at school! It was great to see so many of you in our assemblies, as always I am sorry I cannot pick everyone to answer questions but if you do not get to tell me what you wanted to, you can always send a message via seesaw under your Going Forth Activity. I hope you have a restful weekend and the adults at home get to have a break from juggling home schooling and work. Mrs Clayton
Seesaw Feedback Do remember to respond to the feedback that your teacher is giving you at the end of your piece of work. It is important that we use this function for next steps so that you can improve your work if necessary. Try not to rush your work to get it all done quickly! The quality of the work is more important than the amount you complete.

Star Teacher of the Week
Each week I will be presenting a teacher with a Star of the Week certificate. Last week Miss Julian was awarded a certificate for her resilience and stamina when there were some complications with the recording of her lessons! Miss Julian did not give up, even when things were becoming a bit difficult and frustrating for her. In Assembly this week, I chose Mr Earley as our Star Teacher, as he has been very helpful and supportive to others since we have returned to work. Mr Earley came to my rescue when the assembly crashed on Monday! He was very calm and showed that he could use his learning skill of logic to work out what had gone wrong.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT ASSEMBLY
In today’s assembly I was sad to see that children were drawing on the screen. We record each assembly and are alerted to who is making the marks.
Four children’s names were recorded – unfortunately, if this happens again we will have to ask you to leave
the assembly. The rules are there for a reason and we should follow them appropriately.
This is the same for emoji’s. If you put up an emoji, you come straight to the front of the screen so this can be very distracting. Please save all these functions for when you are on your Zoom calls with family and
friends.
