The program prepares students for Christian service by enabling them to gain a basic understanding of Scripture,

theology, and the Christian worldview.

Dear Friend of Southeastern Seminary:This Spring, we will be offering three (3) courses for the Southeastern Baptist Seminary Tampa Extension. These classes will fulfill core requirements that apply to the M.A. Christian Studies degree, as well as, two core and one elective course supporting the M.Div. degree.

The first Saturday class begins January 17. I will be teaching Christian Theology II at 8:00 a.m. in Room E209. The second is: Great Commission Studies, taught by Dr. Robinson; and third is: History of the Baptist Church, taught by Dr. Chesney. Scheduled times are Friday, noon - 9 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. All classes will meet in Room E209.

MASTER OF ARTSThe Master of Arts degree provides a graduate level introduction to basic theological disciplines and the opportunity for students to focus on one or more of the Seminary disciplines that will prepare the student for further graduate study. Applicants should have an accredited Bachelor’s degree.

degree requirementsThe M.A. Degree (36 hours) includes the core courses (33 hours), and an MA Research Project (3 hours) that may be taken in any discipline to enable the student to focus on a particular ministry emphasis. Both degrees are A.T.S. and SACS accredited.

MASTER OF DIVINITYThe traditional Master of Divinity program is designed to prepare pastors, missionaries, and other Christian workers for a life of effective Kingdom service. The Ministry track supports both academic and practical ministry interests. The program prepares students for Christian ministry by enabling them to gain a basic understanding of Scripture, theology, and the Christian worldview.

admission requirementsAdmission to the Master of Divinity program is limited to persons holding a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent, who also meet all other admission requirements for the Seminary. Individual track concentrations may have additional requirements, as noted.

While a B.A. in Religion may allow students to qualify for advanced standing in some foundational courses, it is not a requirement for enrolling in the Master of Divinity program of the seminary.

degree requirementsThe Master of Divinity degree (90 hours) is the basic seminary degree for pastoral ministry,offering a broad and strong foundation of training. Sixty hours may be completed at the Tampa Exten-sion through the courses and on-line studies. There is no longer any limit on online hours. The entire degree may be completed online. We suggest the M.Div. in Christian Ministry as the most attainable option for Distance Learning students:M.Div. Core 60 hrsFree Electives 30 hrsdegree requirement total 90 hrs

For all new students, there is a $40, non-refundable application fee for admission. If possible, students who have not previously been admitted to the College should contact the Office of Admissions to apply at least 30 days before the courses begin. Students may register for classes during either of the first two class sessions by completing the Distance Learning Special Admission Application Form, Registration Form, and paying fees. Registration fees for Southern Baptist students are $263 each credit hour and $525 per credit hour for non-Southern Baptist students. Students may drop without penalty and fees will be refunded, if dropped before the February 6, 2015 deadline.
