4. What to Teach? That is the Question. SCHOOL CURRICULUM Most
parents have no clue if their children are learning from the
material that is being taught to them. In this segment we are going
to discuss some top curriculums that are used in the school
systems. If they are effective or non effective. Episode 2Pilot SEX
EDUCATION
5. Stuffed in a Locker BULLYING We aware that many schools
today incorporate policies against bullying. We dont condone
bullying in schools and support strict measures by the
administration (to prevent and counsel) students that bully. The
major emphasis for not allowing bullying in schools refers to an
escalation of bullying that leads to murder (i.e. Columbine High
School). Episode 4Episode 3 Youre Still Teaching!? TEACHER TENURE
Some teachers have exceeded the 3 years and a day which makes them
tenure. Some concerns are after most teachers become tenure it
takes a lot to get them fired. Are the teachers still teaching
quality material?
6. Parents Are Really Concerned Citizens PARCC TEST State exams
like PARCC are not an accurate measure of a students academic
intelligence. A student's ability to learn and or maintain academic
excellence most certainly can not be measured by PARCC. If a
student is having a bad day and it is reflected within the exam
results, this student will most likely be placed in remedial
classes the following school term. However, the same student
achieves honors all four marking periods; year after year. Still,
he or she will be a prime candidate for remedial studies and
removed from any advanced classes; until the next results of the
PARCC exam. ? IT CAME FROM THE CAFETERIA CAFETERIA FOOD We can not
say enough about this subject. Lunches served in schools are in
many cases an atrocity; better suited to animals in the wild than
human children. In addition, the fat content is abnormally high; of
which contributes to child obesity. Thus, the nutrition level is
poor and requiring of some serious attention on the parts of the
administration and PARENTS! Episode 6Episode 5
7. Extra! Extra! EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Are
extra-curricular activities fun, and a way for our children to meet
new people and interact with new things? Or are they becoming just
another way to place even more pressure on our children? SCORE 1
FOR THE BOYS BACK HOME SPORTS More and more of our tax money goes
to support sports in our schools, while funding for the arts and
other programs continues to get cut. Is this fair to the children
who do not want to play sports, or those who can not? Should a
change be made? Listen in to hear all the information you really
need to know. Episode 8Episode 7
8. Your Skirt is Too Short UNIFORMS (DRESS CODE) In this weeks
episode, we will discuss the pros and cons of wearing uniforms in
school. A pro discussion on uniforms help stop children from
wearing reviling outfits in front of their peers is a topic on
hand. A con that will be brought up is how uniforms stop children
from expressing themselves, which can effect how they act and
perform in school everyday. Are We There Yet? SCHOOL TRIPS / EVENTS
In this weeks episode, we will be discussing the pros and cons of
going on school trips as well as school hosted events. A pro for
school trips is that they help the students understand and learn
better information on there topic instead of just siting in a
classroom. The experience of learning though having fun and seeing
things the children never saw before helps the learning process. A
con of such trips is that they are using money from the school that
can be put into better use for the students, not to mention the
risen costs burdening families. Episode 10Episode 9
