1. THE COLLEGE: Established in the year 1944, this college has been an important centre of learning and one of
the premier institutions of Odisha. The College has been accredited with NAAC “A” Grade w.e.f. session 2017-18.

3. ELIGIBILITY: Any candidate who has passed the +3 Final Degree Examination conducted by any recognized
university securing 45% marks in concerned Honours subject is eligible to take admission in to 1st year of PG in that subject.
4. APPLICATION FORM: Application form and Information Brochure for admission can be downloaded from the college
website www.scscollege.nic.in or applicant can obtain the Application form from the College Collection Counter of the college on payment of Rs. 100/- in cash. Application form can also be downloaded from the college website and should be submitted along with a Bank Draft of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred) only drawn in favour of the Principal, S.C.S. (Autonomous) College, Puri, Payable at Puri. The filled-in application form along with required documents must be submitted through Registered/ Speed Post only to the Principal, S.C.S. (Autonomous) College, Puri, PIN-752001. The cover containing the filled in application form should be super scribed as "Application for admission into PG in _______ subject for the session 2018-19"
5. DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED WITH THE APPLICATION FORM: Duly filled in application form along with the undertaking with a recent passport size
photograph pasted. Self Attested Xerox copies of mark sheet & certificates of all examinations starting from
HSC or its equivalent to Degree level. Self Attested Xerox copy of Certificate in support of reservation/ weightage, if any, from
competent authority. One self-addressed unstamped envelopes (size 25cm x 10cm) with their mailing address.
6. ADMISSION PROCEDURE: Candidates who have passed with Honours in the concerned subjects and secured 45%
marks in Honours subject shall be eligible for selection. In case of late applicants, their applications shall be considered for admission only when
seats are found to be lying vacant after all the applications received within due date are finally disposed of.
Candidates selected for admission will be intimated individually by Regd./ Speed Post regarding the date of admission. The names of the selected candidates shall also be displayed in the college Notice Board and also in the college website.
If a selected candidate fails to get admitted on the specified date, he/she will forfeit his/her claim. Extension of time will not be allowed.

7. DOCUMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO BE SUBMITTED THROUGH REGD./ SPEED POST Intimation Letter. Original College Leaving Certificate. Original Certificates of all examinations starting from HSC to Degree level. Original Mark sheets of all examinations starting from HSC to Degree level. Original Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended. Original recent Caste Certificate from the Tahasildar. Income certificate of parents of SC/ST candidates from the Tahasildar. Four copies of recent colour passport size photographs duly signed. Original Migration Certificate, if passed from any university other than Utkal University.
8. RESERVATION OF SEATS (As per Govt. rules) Schedule Castes (SC) - 16.25% Schedule Tribes (ST) - 22.5% Self / Children / Wife of Ex-servicemen (ESM) - 01% Children of serving Army Personal - 01% OH/ PH/ DISABILITY (Not less than 40% disability) - 05%
(Certificate from the Medical Officer not below the rank of CDMO to the effect that he/she has a permanent Orthopedic/ Physical handicap to the extent of not less than 40% disability and the same will be sent by this office to the concerned CDMO/ Medical Board for authentication for considering the eligibility for admission)
NOTE: In case of SC and ST candidates, reservation of one category is not transferable to other. In case of reservation, the principles laid down by the Govt. of Odisha and modified from
time to time shall be followed. No seat shall remain reserved for any category beyond the normal date of admission. In case of reservation of seats as per para-6 remains vacant till the last date of admission;

Candidates belonging to Radhi, Niari and Ghani communities as synonymous to Dewar Caste, which were previously considered as schedule caste, now cannot claim to be member of the scheduled caste in Orissa under article 341 of the constitution of India as per Office Order No. 26156 dated 26.08.2000 issued by ST and SC
For Candidates from outside the state of Odisha, the total number of students admitted to any class should not exceed 5% of the total number of sanctioned seats of the class. For the purpose of admission an application will be deemed to be from within the State of Orissa, if he/she has passed the qualifying examination from any of the college situated within the territory of the State of Orissa. If an applicant whose parents are permanent residents of the State of Orissa, he/ she may be considered to be from within the State of Orissa, provided he/she produces a Domicile certificate from a local Revenue Officer, not below the rank of Tahasildar to the effect that his/her parents are permanent residents of the locality in the State of Odisha.
9. AFTER ADMISSION a) To receive the Library Card, a student is required to submit an attested passport size
photograph along with his college Identity Card at the Library counter. (The Identity Card would be returned to the candidate after verification).
b) In order to be eligible to contest in the college election, the student must have at least 75% attendance.
c) Submission of Migration Certificate: Students who has passed the qualifying examination from a University other than Utkal University and admitted in this college is required to submit his/her Original Migration Certificate at the time of admission.

d) The Students are to come to the college in proper Uniform with Identity Cards. e) Pursuant to the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India dated. 10.12.2007 Ragging is
to be prevented from educational institutions. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice for the authority, the authority shall expel the concerned student from the institution. (Letter No. 1041 dated. 14.01.2008, HE, Govt. of Odisha)
10. TRANSFER ADMISSION: Admission on transfer shall not be ordinarily allowed after the PG Part-1 Examination.
However, in case of admitting a student as GST basis, it shall be allowed only if the previous institution is an Autonomous College and the having the same course structure [No.1 HE/ AC29/ 200(FT)3012(3)HE/dt. 23.05.2002]. The student must also satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria (Ci.3).
11. HOSTEL a) Hostel selection will be considered primarily on merit basis. However, under certain
compelling circumstances like Physically Handicap, Long Distance etc. may be taken into account for allocation of Hostel seats to limited extent at the discretion of the Principal.
b) The Principal of the college is the warden of all the hostels and has the authority to control the administration over the boarders through the superintendents of the hostels. Students living in the hostel will be under the direct control of the Superintendents not only during their college hours but also throughout their studentship period in the college.
c) Allotment of Rooms. Seats will be allotted as per availability.
12. INTERPRETATION OF RULES: Admission is purely provisional. Any clarification regarding admission shall be brought to the notice of the Principal. The decision of the Principal in the matter of admission is final and binding. Rules mentioned herein are subject to change/ modification by the University/ Govt./
Principal.

NOTE: Applications incomplete in any respect/ without Original supporting documents shall be
rejected. IMPORTANT POINTS TO BE NOTED:
Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college. Any student found involved in ragging will be expelled from the institution.
Suppression of facts or submission of incorrect information by the applicant if detected at the time of admission or later shall render the selection/ admission of the candidate invalid.
Applications complete in all respects but received after the last date of submission shall be treated as late application.
