1-Attendance:• Allcandidatesmustreportontime.Latecandidateswillnotbegiven
anyadditionaltimetocompletetheirexaminationormaynotbeper-mitted todo theexaminationatall.Nocandidatewill beadmittedin theexaminationhall onceany candidateof the samespecialtyleavestheroom.
• ThestarttimeoftheexaminationmaybedelayedduetounforeseencircumstancesIfdelaysdooccur,candidateswillstillgettheirfullal-lottedexaminationtime.
• Candidates arriving at the exam venueRegistrationDesk half anhourafterthe start of examinations shall NOT be allowed to at-tempt the exam unless a valid excuse signed by the Program Director is provided.
2-Absence and or Excuse from Examination:• An absence from an exam or its component after registration for
examinations inKIMSExaminationsOfficeshallbeconsideredasa ‘Failed’ attempt.
3- Opting-out after Registration:• Optingoutafter registrationshallbeconsideredasa’ Failed ‘ at-
temptunlessapprovedbytheKIMSExaminationAppealsCommit-tee.

4-Examination Conduct, Rules and Regulation:• Allcandidatesmustrespectallrulesofconductandbehaveinapro-
fessionalandrespectfulmannertowardtheExaminationCommitteeMembersandtheExaminationsOfficepersonnel.
• Theadmissioncardalongwithcivilidentificationcardmustbepre-sented tobeable tosit forexam.Youwillnotbeallowed into theexaminationwithoutpresentingbothformsofidentification.PresentbothformsofidentificationtothestaffattheRegistrationDeskatthevenueoftheexam.
• Impersonationorfalseidentitywillbesubjecttoapplicablegovern-mentrules.
• Specificinstructionsshallbeprovidedonthedayoftheexam,whichwillrequireastrictcompliance.
• Candidatesmustnottalktoeachotherinsidetheexaminationprem-ises.
• Candidatesmustnotcommunicatewitheachother inanymannerwhatsoeverwhiletheexaminationisinprogress.
• Candidatesmustnotengageinanydisruptivebehavior.
• Smokingisnotallowedintheexaminationpremises.
• Candidates must be dressed professionally ( men shortsfashionorwomen low-cut necklinesandmini-skirts fashionarestrictlynotallowed).
• Wearingofdanglingjewellerys/accessoriesorhairstylesthatcouldinterferewiththephysicalexaminationduringclinicalexamsispro-hibited.
• Differentiationbetweenmaleandfemaledresscodesislegitimate.
• Labcoatsarenotrequired.Ifyouchoosetowearalabcoat,itmustnothaveanyidentifyingfeatures.

• Candidatesshallbeallowedtoleavetheexaminationpremiseshalfanhourafterthestartofexaminations.
• If a candidatemust leave the examination room temporarily, onlyoneindividualmayleaveatatimeandanexaminationofficialmustaccompanythem.
• Toensureexaminationconfidentialityismaintained,candidatesmaybesequestered tostay fora fewminutes toa fewhoursafter theexamination.Candidates cannot bring any type of electronic de-vice into the sequestering room and are not permitted to leave before authorization is granted.
• Upon completion of the examination, answer books and sheetshandedtotheexaminationofficialsbecomethepropertyoftheEx-aminationsOfficeandcannotbereturnedtothecandidate.
• AccordingtoAssessmentCommitteepolicy,candidateswhoareillandchoosetoproceedwiththeexaminationcannotusetheirillnesstorequestaformalreviewof theirexamination,specialconsidera-tion,orannulmentoftheirattemptattheexamination.
• Exceptunderextenuatingcircumstances,anyregisteredcandidatewhoappearsattheexaminationwillbeconsideredtohaveattempt-ed theexaminationwhetherornothe/shecompletes theexamorconsiders theexaminationaspractice.All candidateexaminationswillbescoredandresultswillberecordedonfile.
Non-compliancewithanyoftheaboveshallbeconsideredamisconductsubjecttodisciplinaryactionbytheinvigilatorvaryingfromverbalwarningtoawrittenreportwithrequiredimplicationstotheHeadoftheKIMSExaminationsOffice.Ifthecandidate is requested to leave theexaminationprem-isesbytheinvigilatorwithanapprovalfromtheHeadoftheKIMSExaminationsOffice,thenitmustbecomplied.

5-Examination Confidentiality:• Candidatesmustnotgiveorobtainunauthorizedinformationoraid
duringanexam.
• Candidatesmustnotlookattheexaminationmaterialsofothers.
• Candidatesmustnottakeanycomponent/materialofanexamout-sidetheexaminationpremisesinanyform.
• Uponreceivingyourexampackageyoumustsignaconfidentialitystatementagreement,thatyouwillrespecttheconfidentialityoftheexamination.Ifyoubreachthisconfidentialityagreementyouwillbewarnedthatyourexaminationresultsmaybevoided.
• TheexaminationquestionsareprotectedbycopyrightandaretheintellectualpropertyoftheKuwaitInstituteforMedicalSpecializationExaminationsOffice.Anyreproductionorotherdisclosureoftheseexaminationquestionsinwholeorinpartisstrictlyprohibited.TheExaminationsOfficewilltakeallavailabledisciplinarymeasuresand legal actionsagainstanycandidateorotherswhoviolatethiscon-fidentialityprovision

6- Examination Materials and Equipment :• KIMSExaminationsOfficewill provideall necessary supplies and
equipmentforallcomponentsoftheexamination.
• Regular timechecksaregivenby invigilatorsand thereforecandi-dateswillnotneedtouseadditionaltimingdevices.
• The Examinations Office will provide answer booklets, answersheets,andscrappaperforeachcandidate.Aswell,pencilswillbeprovidedforexaminationsusingthemultiple-choicequestion(MCQ)format.
• ForShortAnswerQuestions(SAQs),pleasewriteaslegiblyaspos-sibleandrefrainfromexcessiveuseofabbreviationsastheexamin-ersmustbeabletointerpretwhatyouhavewritteninordertoassignmarks.
• Candidatesmust bring their own pen if the written component iscomposedofshort-answerquestions(SAQ).
• Allcomponentsof theexaminationwillbestrictlyobservedby theExaminationsOfficepersonnel.

7- Personal Property:• BeforethestartoftheexaminationatthecheckdesktheCandidates
are not permitted to have any electronic or communication devices(ie.Cellphone,smartphone,Ipad,pager,blackberry,USBormemorysticks,calculators; laptops;electronic tablet; recordingdevices;MP3players;bleepers;timingdevicesthatmakeaudiblebeeps)andmateri-alssuchasbooks,papers,andothermaterials.
• IfanytypeofelectronicdeviceisrequiredaspartofanexaminationtestthenitwillbesuppliedbytheExaminationsOfficeandwillbepro-videdonsiteoftheexamination.
• Allitemsincludedbags,purses,papersandallelectronicdeviceswillbestoredinbinsattheregistrationdeskbeforethestartoftheexami-nation.Anycandidatecaughtinthepossessionofsuchdevicesduringtheexaminationmaybeimmediatelyexpelled.
• Candidatesarepermittedtowearawatchwithoutelectronicfeaturesandthatdoesnotemitsoundmaybeused.
• Inresponsetotheincreasedpotentialforcheatingandthedisturbanceofothercandidates,theExaminationsOfficewillfollowthestrictappli-anceofthefollowingrulesregardingtheuseofelectronicdevicesandmobilephonesduringexaminations:
• Mobile phones or electronic devices , brought to examinationsmustbeswitchedoffandfullydeactivatedforthedurationoftheexamination.
• Switchoffinfrontoftheexaminationofficerattheregistrationdesk.Theexaminationofficewillthenputthedeviceinasealedenve-lopeandplaceitinabinaccordingtoyouridentificationnumber.
• Themobilewillbereturnedattheendoftheexamination.• Failuretocomplywiththeserequirementsmayleadtodisqualification
fromtheexamination.
• The followingaresomeexamples that constitutenon-complianceoftheaboverules:
• Amobilephoneorelectronicdevicefoundinthepossessionofacandidateduringanexamination.
• Theringing,vibratingoranyaudible‘beep’heardfromamo-bilephoneorelectronicdevicewhilstanexaminationistakingplace.
Inallcasesofnon-complianceanincidentreportformwillbesubmittedtothemisconduct.

8-Candidate non-compliance:• Candidates cited for non-compliance will be required to sign
the incident report form before leaving the examination room and may be required to attend a meeting after the examination has been concluded with the Head of KIMS Examinations Office and the Misconduct Group to give further information/evidence regarding the incident.
• Examinationresultsofcandidatescitedfornon-compliancewillbewithhelduntiladecisionhasbeenreachedbytheMisconductGroup.
• Investigationswillbecompletedasquicklyandefficientlyaspossibleandcandidateswillbekeptinformedofprogress.
• CandidateswillbeinformedoftheoutcomeinwritingbytheDirectorofTrainingandExaminationsonbehalfoftheMisconductGroup.
• Where the Misconduct Group agree that non-compliance is proven they will consider the following, before a penalty is agreed:
• Theneedtopreservetheintegrityoftheexamination.
• Thedisturbancecausedtoothers.
• Consistencywithpreviouspenalties.
• The Misconduct Group may consider awarding one of the fol-lowing standard penalties or may give a more specific penalty where felt appropriate:
• Nofurtheraction.
• Awrittenwarning.
• Result foranexaminationorpartofanexamination, tobedeclaredvoid.
• Candidatebarredfromapplyingforanexamforaspecifiedperiod.

9-Alleged conflict of interest between a candidate and an examiner:• EveryeffortwillbemadebytheChairandthemembersoftheEx-
aminationCommittee toensure that there isnoconflictof interestbetweenacandidatetheexaminer.
• Ifacandidateperceivesaconflictofinterestwithanexaminer,he/shemustreportitimmediatelytotheexaminationsofficebeforetheexaminationortotheexaminationsofficepersonnelduringtheex-aminationsession.Examinations office personnel will review the allegation with the Chair of the Examinations Committee.
• Suchallegationifnotreportedbeforeorduringtheexaminationses-sionwillnotconstitutegrounds for reviewof theexaminationatalatertime.
