Head ashore with your Naturalist to investigate the area’s amazing flora and fauna and hopefully spot native creatures such as bald uakari monkeys, squirrel monkeys, sloths, and numerous bird species. After lunch back on board, head back out to explore with your Naturalist. If you choose, you can stay out after dark to search for more of the nocturnal creatures. (B,L,D)

Day 10: Peruvian Amazon Cruising (disembarkation) - Iquitos - Lima. Included today: Naturalist-guided panga ride; native village visit; visit the Manatee Rescue Centre; fly to Lima. Cruise along the shore of the vast Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, a 5-million-acre flooded forest. This morning, board a skiff to see one of the true highlights of your trip: sunrise at the confluence of the Ucayali and Marañon Rivers, where the majestic Amazon River begins. Along the way, watch for falcons, terns, tanagers, sandpipers, parakeets, parrots, and a variety of other bird species. Next, travel by skiff to visit a native village and meet the local Indians to learn about their culture, traditions, and folklore. Back on board Aria, enjoy a final farewell lunch before disembarking.
