My Journey
I came here because land was cheap.
The financial panic of 1819 moved me here.
My Arrival
All the land I qualified for was 1,920 acres.
I paid $ 0.12 per acre. My cost all together was $ 230.40.
1822
In 1822 I found out my yearly land payment.
The payment was 76.80 dollars. My investment for the land was 923.20
dollars.
1822
My bank balance was 1,323.20. I was left with $ 400 dollars to spend on
my self.
1823
The year 1823 was a short year for me.
For all my crops together was $ 265.00.
The total for my gross income was $ 620.00.
1823
I subtracted the investment money and the cost of the crops and my remaining investment money was $ 981.40 but I had $620.00 left by the end of the year.
1824
The year 1824 was also a short year for me but a good one.
I had $2,000 to spend! My remaining investment money was
$789.60.
1824
My total cost for crops was 500 dollars. Then my bank balance was 3,789.60
dollars. My town was Gonzales and I had 2,000
dollars to spend.
My Town
Gonzales
My Conclusion
I was very successful by the end of the three years.
I want to go home because I miss my family.
