CHRIS MASSEY
OBJECTIVE As a field service representative for the past nine years, my goal is to secure a position where my
skills and past experience will be utilized to their fullest, contributing to the growth of my
employer in a setting of honesty and integrity.
PROFESSIONAL
ACHIEVEMENTS
TURBINE COMMISSIONING/INSTALLATIONS
2013
One Titan 130 compressor unit for TCPL
Two Titan 130 generator sets for Shell Canada
Two Centaur 50 generator sets and one Taurus 60 generator set for Arc Resources.
2012
Four new installations at Alta Gas Harmattan: one Titan 130 generator set; one Taurus 70
mechanical drive; and two electrical drive compressors.
INTERNATIONAL ASSIGNMENT
The Australian district approached the Canadian district to supply them with a reliable
Field Service Representative who was capable of performing commissioning tasks in the
Australian outback, with limited resources and support. I was chosen to assist with
commissioning of two Taurus 70 compressor sets situated four hours west of Brisbane in
the Australian outback during July, 2014, while the local Field Service Representatives were
on a course. Assisted the customer with process yard valve set up and assisted two
subcontractors to set up fuel skid and anti-surge systems.
RETROFITS
2014
A retrofit of a Centaur 50 to a Taurus 60 engine at Harvest Energy. This retrofit also
required the rear trunnion to be moved, machined and welded. Generator bearings were
exchanged with commissioning of a new fuel module installation and controls. The
generator bearings and installation of the rear trunnion mount are outside the scope of
typical field service, but were carried out to ensure deadlines were met due to the
technical aspect of this job. The customer has since approached Solar Turbines field service
to assist with construction of the power plant and final commissioning of the Taurus 60
generator set.
Participated as a key member of the project team for a wet seal to dry gas seal exchange of
two tandem body compressors for Fortis B.C.
2013
Five retrofits for Fortis BC Gas: two retrofits consisted of complete replacement of the fuel
system, control system and emergency circuit for compressor seal system; the remaining
three retrofits consisted of replacing wet seal systems.
