A) Division using Repeated Subtraction

Example: Solve 12 ÷ 2 using repeated subtraction

Method: Take away by 2 until it gets zero result.

12 – 2 = 10

10 – 2 = 8

8 – 2 = 6

6 – 2 = 4

4 – 2 = 2

2 – 2 = 0

Therefore, 12 ÷ 2 = 6

B) How the calculator skip reading and counting?

For example, key in 12 – 6 on the calculator then press “=” continuously until it displays zero result.

Count how many times it is subtracted by 2?Answer: There are six 2s.
