DoIqualifyasaSolidWasteCollector?Anybusiness,non-profit,orgovernmententityengagedinthecollectionortransportationintheDistrictofgarbage,refuse,trash,oranyotherwasteorwasteproduct,includingrecyclable,compostable,orotherwisereusablematerialsisconsideredasolidwastecollector.

Solidwastecollectorsinclude:- Traditionaltrashcollectors- Recyclingcollectors- Compostcollectioncompanies- Landscapingcompanies- Fat,oilandgreasecollectors

- Textilecollectors- Electroniccollectors- Businesseswithapproved

self-implementationplans- Othercollectorsofreusablematerials

IalreadyhavealicensewithDCRA;doIhavetoregisterwiththeDPWOfficeofWasteDiversion?Yes.TheserequirementsareinadditiontoanylicensingrequirementofDCRA.IamregisteredwiththeDPWOfficeofRecycling;doIhavetoregisterwiththeDPWOfficeofWasteDiversion?Yes.ThisnewprocesswillreplaceandexpandupontheregistrationandreportingprocessthatwaspreviousundertakenbytheOfficeofRecycling.YouarerequiredtoturninafinalreporttotheOfficeofRecyclingforOctoberthroughDecemberof2016.Beginningin2017youwillonlyneedtoregisterandreporttotheOfficeofWasteDiversion.WhendoIneedtoregisterandreport?January1st,2017-BegindatacollectionFebruary1st,2017-FirstregistrationdeadlineFebruary1st,2018-FirstreportingdeadlineandannualregistrationdeadlineWhatwillregistrationentail?
