RAPID NET | SAFETY GUIDANCE
COMPLIANCERapid Net has been tested in accordance with the BS EN 1263 - 1, ANSI/ASSE A10.11 - 2010 & OSHA 1926.105 standards covering both Fall Arrest and Debris Containment and has been
found to meet all necessary requirements.
The Rapid Net system should be used in accordance with the manufacturers guidance notes.
» When installing, re-positioning or dismantling the Rapid Net, Operatives should use industry approved fall restraint systems.
» In addition to the required Fall restraint systems, appropriate PPE must be worn when working with this product
» Never mix Rapid Net components with any other manufacturers components. Only the manufacturers specified fixings, fasteners and system components should be used with the Rapid Net.
» Adverse weather conditions such as wind speeds in excess of the stated safe working procedures for site should be considered by Operatives before deploying the Rapid Net. Under no circumstances should the net be raised or re-positioned using the Rapid Winch in said conditions.
» The Rapid Net system should be in the closed position during snowstorms as accumulated snow will reduce the overall performance of the net.
» Accumulated snow or debris should be removed from a safe working surface on a daily basis.
» In the event of the Rapid Net System arresting the fall of persons or significant falls of material, the project specific rescue plan should be implemented and the Rapid Net System should be replaced immediately.
» It is the responsibility of the end user to carry out daily inspections & conform to all local regulations.
SAFETY GUIDANCE
RAPID NET | USAGE
COMPLIANCEAny equipment that has been subject to an impact load should be scapped immediately.
The Rapid Net System is primarily to be used for debris containment.
The Rapid-Net can be used for Debris containment in the following scenarios:
» On floor to floor heights ranging from a minimum of 2.6m / 8'7" to a maximum of 4.8m / 16'0"
» On floor to ceiling heights up to 14"1" using the Rapid Post / Rapid Post Extra and the Rapid Boot.
» On floor to floor heights up to 16'0" using the standard telescopic insert
» On floor to floor heights up to 19'10" using the drill and fix solution and the extra height telescopic inserts (RM797)
The Rapid-Net can be used for fall arrest in the following scenarios:
» On floor to floor heights ranging from a minimum of 2.6m / 8'7" to a maximum of 4.8m / 16'0" using the drill and fix installation method.
The Rapid Net can be used to catch personel up to 20'0" below the wetdeck/working level.

Before installing the Rapid Net, the telescopic uprights need to be adjusted to the correct floor heights. The telescopic inner tube has 12 settings, in increments of 200mm / 8" and should be adjusted to the correct setting before installation commences. To adjust the telescopic upright, loosen and remove the nut and bolt shown above, slide the inner tube to the required setting and reinsert and tighten the nut and bolt. The bottom bracket of the net frame can be adjusted during installation to compensate for any remaining gaps in the floor to ceiling height. For Instructions regarding the extra height telescopic uprights, see page 54.

RAPID NET | LIFTING DEVICERAPID NET | LIFTING DEVICE
STEP 1 | Place the lifting device frame on floor ready to be unpacked. The frame should be assembled on the level that the top brackets of the net will be installed on.
STEP 2 | Once the hoist and pulley frames (Parts B & C) have been removed from rolling frame (Part A), the legs can be rotated 90 degrees to stand the rolling frame in position.
DETAIL | When the legs of the rolling frame are in the correct position, the uprights should sit against the highlighted plate shown above.
DETAIL | Once the parts of the lifting device have been unpacked and assembled, the lifting device can be moved into position nearer the slab edge.
All Personel to have proper PPE during installation.

STEP 3 | Remove the long pin and R-clip from the the hoist frame (Part C).
STEP 5 | Reinsert the long pin & R-clip that was removed from the hoist frame to secure the hoist and pulley frames together.
STEP 6 | Remove the long pin and R-clip from the rolling frame. This will be used later to secure the hoist and pulley frame (Parts B & C) to the rolling frame.
STEP 4 | Insert the hoist frame (Part C) into the pulley frame (Part B) as shown. The joining plates on each frame should sit against each other when properly installed.

STEP 7 | Remove the R-clips from the top of the uprights on the rolling frame (Part A). These will be used later to secure the hoist & pulley frame to the rolling frame.
STEP 9 | The holes at the base of the hoist frame should line up with the holes in the steel on the rolling frame, as shown above.
STEP 10 | Reinsert the long pin and R-clip at the base of the rolling frame to finish assembling the lifting device frame.
Step 8 | Place the assembled frames (Part B & C) as shown onto the rolling frame uprights. The holes in the angled plate should sit over the short pins on the rolling frame. The R-clips can then be reinserted into the short pins on the rolling frame.

STEP 15 | The drive nut shown on the lifting device arm can be adjusted to extend or retract the pulley arm, based on the users preference.
ADDITIONAL | Once the Rapid Net has been successfully installed, the lifting device does not need to be disassembled to be used again on the same working level. The lifting device can be pivoted onto the wheels on the front of the rolling frame and easily moved to where the next Rapid Net will need to be lifted.
Simply remove the Rapid Posts from the lifting device, move to wherever it is required and reinstall the Rapid Posts as per STEPS 14 & 15
DETAIL | The pulley arm can be extended a maximum of 450mm / 1' 6" to assist with safely lifting the Rapid Net in position.
