ASHE Energy Treasure Hunt
ASHE along with the US EPA Energy Star are conducting a post annual conference training that
will provide hands-on experience in identifying energy savings in hospitals. The Energy Treasure
Hunt is a 1-1/2 day event designed to engage members in identifying low-cost energy savings
opportunities from behavioral, operational, and maintenance actions. Bruce Bremer, Energy
Treasure Hunt Founder and ENERGY STAR team member, will be on site to facilitate the event.

ASHE Energy Treasure Hunt
• Where is the event?
• The Energy Treasure Hunt will take place immediately following ASHE’s Annual
Conference in Seattle. A local hospital will host the event.
• When is the event?
• The Energy Treasure Hunt Post Conference training takes place immediately following
ASHE’s Annual Conference. Participants will be asked to participate in three 1 hour
training webinars in the weeks prior to the event. The tentative schedule follows:

• Pre-training Webinars:• 1 – hour Training Webinar 1: week of June 11
• 1 – hour Training Webinar 2: week of June 18
• 1 – hour Training Webinar 3: week of July 9
• Event schedule:• July 18, 2018
• 12:30 Bus will pick up participants at the Washington State Convention Center
• 12:45 Lunch and Event Kickoff – review treasure hunt philosophies, process and calculation details
• 1:45 to 4:30 teams look for savings opportunities on site and calculate savings
• 4:45 Bus will pick up participants and transport back to Conference Hotel
• July 19, 2018
• 7:15 am: Bus will pick up participants at the Washington State Convention Center
• 7:30 to 11:30 teams look for savings opportunities on site and calculate savings
• 11:30 – 12:30 working lunch on site, teams create final presentation demonstrating identified savings
• 12:30 to 1:30 teams identify and present results – event close-out
• 1:45 Bus will pick up participants and transport back to Conference Hotel participant departure

• Who can register?
• Training is open to all facility managers interested in hands-on training in identifying
energy savings in their facilities.
• Deadline to register?
• June 8, 2018
• Cost of the event?
• $50/participant
• AHA CEUs
• 10.0 contact hours
• Contact hours can be used toward renewal of the Certified Health Care Facility Manager
(CHFM) and the Certified Health Care Constructor (CHC) credential.
