The ProjectThe Bata Shoe Museum is a high-profile commercial roofing project featuring IKO Industries’ Cold Gold Roofing Membrane System. According to IKO Field Service Technician Mike Bisson, “Since a flame-free installation was specified, the client chose this system. This allowed us to meet the customer’s expectations as well as effectively meet the challenges of installing in a busy downtown Toronto area.”

The Challenge:According to Mark Baxter, VP of Business Development for Semple Gooder Roofing, the Bata Shoe Museum re-roof was a very sensitive project. “With the nature of this building and its purpose, it is absolutely intolerant to leaks. The installation had to be flame free and odour free, so this eliminated a lot of obstacles for us,” says Baxter. “All materials were moved by crane up to the roof.
