The Agriculture Department of the college has well equipped
laboratories and classrooms with state of art equipments. These
equipments not only provide assistance in teaching but also help
in undertaking research. The college farm has vast experimental
area wherein protected cultivation, modern irrigation systems,
precision farming, organic farming, exotic vegetable cultivation,
floriculture and landscaping etc. is done vigorously. Further, there
is a well developed Botanical garden for the specification of
different plant genres. This availability of vast demonstration area
helps in enhancing effective learning amongst the students. In
order to gain practical knowledge about various agriculture
practices and to get more exposure, from time to time, students
are taken for state Agricultural Universities’ conducted ‘Kisan
Melas’ and ‘Agriculture exhibitions’. To add to their practical
knowledge and to apprise them of modern agricultural practices
they are also taken to fields of progressive farmers. Last but not
least, the college believes in doing community service (social
service). ‘Farmer Field Day’ is organised whereby, from time to
time, various extension activities are organised by the college for
farmers and orchardists to enhance their technical know how on
agriculture, horticulture and agro forestry.
