The road is a perfect example of setting a good mood in the opening scene. The main reason this is mad possible is because of the lighting. The lighting in this opening scene is very dark and dull, with a very grey colour scale. This helps to create the lonely, helpless feel that this film is based on.

The jolty images and the dull greyscale colour scheme helps to create the uneasy feel that would be felt in a zombie apocalypse, (probably) . Hardly any vibrant colours are used as it would not fit the genre, and therefore the title sequence would not feel serious enough.

When the second half of the opening is displayed they colour appears to be a very grey scale and dull appearance with no bright colours that stand out.
