Motivation of the Project

• Working life reality in Hong Kong and its potential harm toindividual workers as well as employers

Average working week for Hong Kong employees is 49.6 hours

82.5% of respondents said they suffered stress from work (Work and Life Balance Survey 2008)27% of people took sick leave in order to recover fromworking long hours

Presenteeism (less productive at work) accounts for more aggregate productivity loss than absenteeism

Motivation of the Project

• Internationally, more and more employers are payingattention to the psychological well-being of their employees

Individuals’ psychological capital (just like economic and human capital) can be developed

Workers will become more resilient, confident, and happier

Employers will enjoy higher productivity and morale, lower turn-over and positive return-on-investment

Motivation of the Project

• Compared with U.S. average, a psychologically healthyworkplace has:

Lower employee turnover (11% vs. 36%)

Fewer employees reporting work stress (24% vs.41%),

Higher employee satisfaction (80% vs. 70%).

• Launched in March 2014, and are continuouslyenrolling
