Meet the Team •  •  •

Donald  Previe  Position:  PBL  Recruiter

Major:  Management

Tell  Us  about  Yourself:  I  am  a  doer.  Permission  or  not,  I  like  to  see  things  moving.  I  also  like  to  use  my  talents  where  they  are  needed  most,  even  if  that  is  everywhere  sometimes.    My  friends  have  dubbed  me  a  leader,  and  Phi  Beta  Lambda  has  brought  that  out  of  me  more  than  ever.  When  it  began,  I  wore  the  hat  of  every  officer  position  when  needed.    My  specialty  is  bringing  people  together  through  communication,  and  keeping  them  motivated  to  work  toward  common,  ethical  goals.  Your  Goal  for  PBL:  This  year,  I  want  to  pass  the  torch  to  a  worthy  group  of  students  who  will  continue  Phi  Beta  Lambda'ʹs  legacy  at  Manchester  Community  College.

meetings  and  see  for  yourself  what  we  have  to  offer.

Rhode  Island  By  Don  Previe

On  February  4th,  2011,  four  dedicated  Phi  Beta  Lambda  members  made  their  way  down  to  Johnson  and  Whales  for  the  annual  regional  conference  competitions,  sponsored  by  DECA  (Distributive  Education  Clubs  of  America).  Let  it  be  known,

against  larger  institutions  such  as  Johnson  and  Whales  themselves,  three  out  of  four  aforementioned  Manchester  Community  College-‐‑Phi  Beta  Lambda  members  took  awards  from  these  competitions.       A  special  congratulation  to  Mike  Armstrong,  Diolienda  Delizia,  and  Donald  Previe,  for  bringing  home  awards  and  honoring  our

professor’s  teachings  by  proving  our  skills.  A  commendable  job  to  Dan  Duford  as  well,  for  getting  out  of  his  comfort  zone  and  for  being  a  fierce  competitor  in  the  largest  competition  regional  had  to  offer,  the  job-‐‑interview  competition.

Robert  Johnston,  President  of  Nashua-‐‑Phi  Beta  Lambda,  went  home  with  a  story  tell.  Our  chapter  hopes  to  hold  more  events  with  him.  Still  there  are  more  conferences  to  go  to.  To  Phi  Beta  Lambda  Members  everywhere,  our  door  is  never  shut.  In  our  competitions  and  reputation,  we  only  intend  to  move  up.

Vice  Presidents  Note:  By  Jackie  Champagne

Calling  all  hands  on  Deck!  These  next  few  months  we  are  going  to  need  all  the  help  we  can  get!  We  as  a  chapter  we  have  so  many  things  going  on  we  need  to  make  sure  we  are  all  on  the  same  page.

Some  of  the  more  important  items  on  the  agenda  are  the  kickoff  party  as  well  as  the  poker  tournament.  Kickoff  party  is  just  two  weeks  away  and

we  have  not  gotten  any  email  response.  I  have  put  some  invites  up  in  the  bathroom  stalls  of  the  girl’s  room  and  don  plans  on  doing  the  same  for  the  boys  as  well.  Diolienda  and  I  have  been  working  on  getting  our  invites  on  our  page  on  MCC  website  as  well  as  on  the  large  TV  in  the  entrance  of  the  school  and  the  library  computers!    I  am  currently  working  on  the  agenda  for  the  kickoff

party  and  Diolienda  has  secured  guest  speakers  from  other  chapters  for  us.  Thanks  Diolienda!

Finally  it  looks  like  Dan  Duford  has  stepped  up  to  work  most  of  the  poker  tournament  advertising  and  selling  of  tickets.  I  love  to  see  this  enthusiasm  from  Dan;  however  we  ALL  need  to  be  selling  tickets  it’s  the  only  way  to  get  people  at  our  event.

Note:  We  have  a  Secretary,  Treasurer,  Reporter,  Historian,  and  Parliamentarian  positions  open!
