A poem by Robert Burns A Red, Red Rose.
O my Luve’s like a red red rose
That’s newly sprung in June
O my Luve’s like the melodie
That’s sweetly play’d in tune
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I ;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’the sees gang dry
Till a’the sees gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
I will luve thee thill, my dear
While the sands o’ life shall run
And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel a while!
And I will come again, my luve
Tho’ it were then thousand mile!

their favorite possessions?
O.Henry want to tell us that they were not foolish. They were wise because they had each sacrificed their most valuable possessions for the person they loved. They were like the three wise men—the Magi—who brought presents for Jesus Christ after he was born. Keep in mind, that this is why Christians still give presents on Christmas Day: to remember the gifts the Magi brought Christ on that very first Christmas.
