What a great summer this has been already. We have had some amazing turnouts at The Summer Concert Series in Beckert Park! I have really enjoyed all of the music. If you haven’t made it out yet, July will be jazz, so come on out with a picnic basket and some lawn chairs.
The pools are hopping already! Thank you to everyone who is following the
pool rules and having your armbands ready to show our security guards. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the pool this summer and it’s important that we all work together as neighbors to keep our pools clean and safe. You may do this by following a few simple rules as outlined in your lease agreement. Do not bring glass containers of any kind into the pool area. Do not allow your pets into the pool area. Always have your 2012 pool band ready to show, identifying you as a Post Resident, and make sure that your guests have bands as well. Please be courteous and respectful of the other swimmers in the area. Don’t forget, 2012 Post Addison Pool Party is July 8th from 11am to 2pm. Come on out for some yummy food and great music!
During the 2nd Quarter Resident Advisory Panel Meeting, several of our residents requested that another reminder be sent out regarding cleaning up after your pets. This includes the elevators and hallways of the building. Be prepared for a mess to be made on your way out of the building. Some of our puppies just can’t wait to get to the grass, so make sure that you are ready in case they have an accident in the elevator or hallways, and clean up after them.
Hope to see you all at KaboomTown on July 3rd! Have a safe and Happy Independence day!

STAYCATION:Destination Dallas!A staycation is a vacation in which an individual enjoys the attractions in their hometown and relaxes without spending the big bucks to travel to some far away destination. If you are planning a staycation this year, put that laundry down and become a tourist in Dallas! There are many things to do and see right here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area; there is no need to travel far to have a great summer! For instance, have you been to the Dallas Aquarium to see animals from around the world? With the price of one ticket you can see exotic creatures from the rainforest to Japan. Here are some more ideas to fi ll up your summer calendar!
Escape realty at the Nasher Sculpture Center by visiting the Ernesto Neto Cuddle on the Tightrope. This exhibit of crochet passageways allows you to elevate above the fl oor and experience art at different level.
Fill up on hot dogs and popcorn while you cheer on the Texas Rangers! Purchase a ticket in the All You Can Eat Seats for $47 and you will not leave the game hungry!
Check out the Chihuly Exhibition under the stars and tree lights at the Dallas Arboretum every Tuesday and Thursday night through July. The park will open from 6-pm and visitors will be able to enjoy a concert with various dining options.

What is your dream vacation destination?Italy
a STAY-FIT staycationIf you’re like me, easily persuaded by anything fried, frozen, or phenomenally caloric, planning a full day of fun activities without trailing too far away from good food choices can be tricky. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you stay fi t and healthy during your summer staycation:
CAN YOU BRING YOUR OWN FOOD?Check to see if the venue you are attending allows outside food and drink. Doing so not only allows you to be health conscious but could also help save some money!
PACK LIKE A CAVEMAN.Nutritional effi ciency is key! Packing lean deli meats and assorted nuts is a way to ensure proper amount of proteins and healthy fats are ingested during the day. Stay away from breads and milk based products which tend to sit heavy and slow you down. Instead, choose fresh fruits and crisp vegetables that are rich in energizing anti-oxidants!
3KEEP THE FLUIDS FLOWING!If you’re going to be outside, make sure to drink plenty of fl uids before, during, and after. That sluggish “5 o’clock feeling” could actually be onset from dehydration. As important as it is to drink water, it could get boring and bland. If you’re able to bring in outside drinks, I recommend making a homemade green tea with honey and fresh lemon OR using Crystal Light to help sweeten your refreshments.
SCAVENGER HUNTS!Touring local exhibits and events can be fun for you, but is it exciting for the rest of your group? Planning a scavenger hunt could be a great way for your group to learn about the exhibit and have fun doing it. Plus, making an activity into a competition raises the intensity thus burning extra calories without thinking about it as a workout. That’s a bonus!
