Shewas born June 6,1924 in HamptonCounty, SC, a daugh-ter of the late EmoryPerry and Clara SaulsSnipes. Mrs. Mackeywas a member of theSecond BaptistChurch of Lancasterand a member of theOrder of the EasternStar #146 JacksonLodge.

A service to cele-brate the life of Mrs.Mackey will be heldWednesday, April 18at 2 p.m. at SecondBaptist Church withthe Rev. Dr. BrianSaxon and the Rev.Larry Helm officiating.Burial will be in theLancaster MemorialPark.

Mrs. Mackey is sur-vived by two sons, BillMackey and his wife,Judy of Waxhaw andRonald Mackey andhis wife, Connie ofGastonia; and a num-ber of grandchildrenand great-grandchil-dren. She was preced-ed in death by adaughter, GeraldineMangum; and abrother, HaroldSnipes.

The family willreceive friends from 1p.m. until 2 p.m.Wednesday, April 18at the Second BaptistChurch.

Mr. Woodward died

Thursday, April 12,2012 in SpringsMemorial Hospital,Lancaster. Born inRock Hill, he was theson of the late Johnnyand Etta Teal Wood-ward. He retired fromCarolina Cargo as aheavy duty truckmechanic and was amember of Abney Bap-tist Church. He alsoenjoyed fishing andspending time with hischildren and grand-children. Mr. Wood-ward served in the USArmy during the Kore-an Conflict and was aPurple Heart Recipi-ent.

Surviving are hiswife of 42 years, KathyHorne Woodward;daughter, Susan W.Hilton (Timothy) ofHeath Springs; son,Tony Woodward(Diana) of Kershaw;six grandchildren,Erica Woodward, Mea-gan Woodward,Dustin Woodward,Devin Woodward,Allen Woodward,Jacob Woodward; twogreat grandchildren,Bryson Woodward andDestinee Lucas; twobrothers, RobertWoodward (Renee),Johnny Woodward(Laurie) all of Lancast-er; sister, Lori Bowers(Phillip) of HeathSprings; daughter-in-law, Amy Woodward ofHeath Springs andspecial canine friend“Peanut”.
