ProContractor 3.4 and MEP Estimating 10.2 Product Enhancement Brief
We are pleased to bring you the ProContractor 3.4 release that contains significant enhancements to ProContractor, Earthwork, ProContractor Estimating, Construction Project Management (CPM), and a new mobile app, ProContractor Mobile. The Earthwork enhancements focus on giving you even more accuracy with your takeoffs, providing an even easier to use application and with ProContractor Estimating, offering you improved security. With CPM – the web based Project Management component of ProContractor, you’ll now have a single sign on, providing full visibility to back office staff. ProContractor Mobile is a new, cross platform solution enabling your project managers to access their project data and documents from anywhere, anytime. We are also pleased to announce the release of Viewpoint MEP Estimating 10.2 with improved usability, an updated pricing tool with a supplier facing web app and enhancements to Digital Takeoff for MEP Estimating These enhancements have been developed based on your feedback and advice and have been incorporated into this release to provide you with exceptional value.

ProContractor-CPM
Construction Project Management (CPM) is the web-based project management component of
ProContractor, and now offers even deeper integration between CPM and ProContractor in a number of
important areas.
With this release, the following enhancements are now available:
Critical Documents Available in Both the
Field and the Office. This new feature
synchronizes document logs and binders
between the back office and field offices
and allows binder items and
attachments created in the field to be
available in the office and vice-versa.
Documents and files are now easily
moved back and forth providing greater
visibility to personnel whether they are
in the field or in the office.
Full Visibility with CPM-ProContractor
integration. With ProContractor you can
now launch web-based CPM in a tab within
ProContractor using a single sign on,
providing full visibility to back office staff.
Access to mission critical data with
Daily Field Reports. Enhancements have
been made to Daily Field Reports (DFR), with
data moving seamlessly from CPM to
ProContractor, including capture and sync of
Daily Updates, Work in Progress (WIP),
timesheets, and field PO Receipts. With
these enhancements, you’ll have access to
mission-critical data, whether in the office,
on the web, or on your mobile device.
Visibility is improved with binder items available in both field and
back-office systems.
Seamless experience: CPM now runs in a ProContractor tab using a
single sign on.

Field Orders
The Field Orders functionality allows ProContractor users to schedule appointments, allocate people, and
display the consolidated information on a schedule board.
With this release, the following enhancements are now available:
Easier to understand Field orders
schedule board. Enhancements include
the addition of easy to understand
color-coded prioritization for
unscheduled appointments, added
columns for people and equipment, and
a new “who requested” field associated
with the appointment as well as contact
information. These enhancements all
bring additional information to the user
to enhance decision-making capability.
Connect Settings
Connect Settings is the centralized control panel that manages user settings and permissions for both Mobile
Connect and CPM.
With this release, the following enhancements are now available:
Save time and effort when setting up
and managing mobile users. The setup
and copying of permissions are improved to
greatly reduce the time it takes to create
mobile users. By consolidating the setup
into functional areas, and automating
various functions, these enhancements
significantly reduce the time and effort
required to manage mobile user settings
and permissions and reduce the possibility
of errors.

ProContractor Mobile
ProContractor Mobile is a new mobile extension to ProContractor, allowing project managers to access
important project documents and data, and transfer daily field report items back to the ProContractor
database, which allows users to work off-line and then sync when they have a web connection.
Users of Mobile Connect will continue to be able to use the product as they have for the foreseeable future,
and updates and bug fixes will continue.
With this new product release, the following enhancements are now available:
ProContractor Mobile is a new cross
platform product, featuring an easy to use
interface, and compatible with Apple
phones and tablets, Android phones and
tablets, and Windows phones and Windows
tablets. ProContractor Mobile for iOS will be
available in early April 2015, with the
Android and Microsoft versions available at
the end of the month.
Quick and Easy Field Timecard
Submittal. The new timecard submittal
allows individuals to submit their own
timecards from the field directly to
ProContractor for approval. Approved
timecards are then fully synchronized with
ProContractor payroll.
ProContractor Mobile users benefit from
a cleaner and more intuitive interface.
The app now features iOS, Android, and
Windows compatibility.
Field users can use ProContractor Mobile to
submit timecards to ProContractor for
approval.

MEP Estimating
Viewpoint MEP Estimating is Viewpoint’s estimating product for specialty subcontractors working in the
mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing fields.
With this release, the following enhancements are now available:
Martin
MEP Estimating is compatible with
Autodesk 2015. Enhancements include
compatibility with Autodesk 2015 and an
updated MEP Estimating plugin for
Autodesk users.
Fast and accurate supplier RFQs
Viewpoint‘s new Pricer web-based
pricing tool will speed RFQ
communications between contractor
and supplier, enhance accuracy, and
offer tight integration with MEP
Estimating. Pricer will also offer a
significantly improved user experience for
suppliers responding to RFQs through the
Pricer interface. Contractors will see
updates to the summary page, where colors
applied to supplier columns will denote
quotation status.
Reduce the number of clicks required
to perform action on multiple files. To
reduce the time and effort to perform
various actions on multiple files, a bulk
file action feature has been added, as
well as the ability to apply a template
associated with one job to another job to
avoid having to recreate templates for a
new job.

Easily crop sections of drawings to
create new files. Users of DTO gain the
ability to crop out an area of a drawing to
create a new sheet from which to do
takeoffs, allowing users to work with the
relevant portion of a drawing in much
greater detail.
Fewer clicks to takeoff a run of piping
or ductwork. Continuous Line is a
significant enhancement to DTO that greatly
reduces the number of clicks required to
takeoff a run of ductwork or piping. The
piping or duct gets taken off automatically
when selecting a Fitting (Elbow, Transition,
Reducer, etc.) Then the user can continue
on from where they left off without having
to select a starting point.
Digital Takeoff
Viewpoint Digital Takeoff (DTO) for MEP Estimating allows estimators to quickly and accurately perform a
takeoff directly from almost any digital file with no need for a digitizer board, a stylus pen, or even a set of
paper plans. Save thousands on printed blueprints and avoid the inconvenience of awkward, bulky paper
plans and perform takeoffs with greater accuracy and speed.
With this release, the following enhancements are now available:
Takeoff runs of ductwork or piping more easily and with fewer clicks.

ProContractor Earthwork ProContractor offers earthwork takeoff software that is tailored to the needs of site work contractors, allowing users to perform digital takeoff quickly and accurately without the need to ever touch a set of bulky, expensive blueprints. With this release, the following enhancements are now available:
Faster takeoffs - Align to image
function. This new feature enables
faster and more accurate takeoff from
digital files by “snapping” Earthwork
takeoff lines to appropriate digital file
contour lines.
Takeoff lines now snap to digital contour lines.
More accuracy and clarity on takeoff
lines. This feature adds the ability to
set line color and thickness to
Earthwork takeoff lines, adding clarity
and accuracy and avoiding the
confusion of multiple black lines over
black lines.
Color and thickness of takeoff lines can be set to add clarity
and enhance accuracy.

Drag and Drop between Earthwork and
Estimating. For customers that have both
Earthwork and Estimating, this new feature
allows drag and drop integration between
the two products. This avoids the need to
manually cut and paste to a clipboard to
move Earthwork quantity information into
Estimating. Same screen drag and drop integration between Earthwork
and Estimating.
Direct Autocad 2014 imports. This enhancement offers the ability to import Autocad files
directly, up to the 2014 version without having to first save the file as an earlier version.
Completely updated and rewritten software. In order to provide you new features, and software that is even easier to use – Earthwork has been rewritten from the ground up. Although these changes are not visible to you, they will allow faster development and the ability for us to offer you richer functionality, reinforcing our commitment to investing in the product to better meet your needs.
ProContractor Estimating ProContractor Estimating enables contractors to significantly improve their takeoff, estimating, and
proposal management processes.
With this release, the following enhancement is now available:
Better security and configurability. A much requested feature, ProContractor Estimating now has ability to assign column level security to cost-related fields. Admin users can assign the ability to:
o View but not edit o Neither view nor edit o Both view and edit
Administrators can assign levels of security to cost related
columns.
