    AUGUST 24, 2014

Continuous fall-like weather has dropped 8 inches of snow at the Lower Saddle and

Grand Teton. A full day of solar radiation will be needed to dry all the routes. Chimneys

and ledges could remain icy for the remainder of the season.

    AUGUST 22, 2014

Recent thunderstorm activity has left the OS route covered in snow/ice. Reports of 6" of

snow/graupel on the Briggs Slab! It will take a shift in the weather pattern and some

serious sunshine to return the route to summer-like conditions!

    AUGUST 12, 2014

The OS is in great condition with some patches of wetness remaining depending on

when the last storm occurred. If temperatures drop and moisture continues, verglas may

    develop.

    AUGUST 8, 2014

Rain and Snow have left some ice and snow in shaded chimneys and ledges.

    JULY 17, 2014

Route from the Lower Saddle to the summit is mostly snow-free and only a few minor

snow crossings remain. It is reasonable to climb the route without an ice axe or

crampons at this time. HOWEVER, be aware that after significant thunderstorms ice

and verglas will be present and may provide very difficult climbing conditions making

    an ascent without crampons impossible.

JULY 8, 2014 Short sections of snow and ice remain getting to the Upper Saddle and sections of the

Upper OS (descent route to rappels), however steps and trail are well established.

Climbers uncomfortable with snow and ice should consider ice axe and crampons.

Warm night have created a lot of free running water on the rocks. If a cold spell hits this

    will turn icy.
