Nominate a club, leader, youth and friend of 4-H in the office!Like us on FacebookCrook County 4-H Oregon

Youth of the MonthEmily was nominated “for helping bring our group together.”More from Emily...My name is Emily McDaniel and I have been in 4-H for eight years. Right now my only project is horse, but in the past I have also exhibited rabbit, dog, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and foods. I have two horses, a mare and her filly. And their names are Tootsie Roll and Remi. Tootsie Roll is a wild mustang from the Warm Springs reservation that I have gentled and trained. She is hands down the best horse I have ever owned. And her baby, Remi, was a total surprise and was born in February! I love 4-H because it has taught me to be responsible, organized, and confident. I have learned the importance of hard work and how to always look a challenge in the eyes and say, “Bring it on!”

Volunteer of the MonthTana was nominate because “She is so thoughtful and always ready to lend a helping hand. She is always looking for ways to improve the experiences we offer youth through the 4-H program whether it is creating a scholarship program for youth to improve their projects, or finding ways to make the benefit auction more successful.” Thank you Tana!My name is Tana Sather and I have been the leader of Little Squirts 4-H club for the last 6 years. I never knew what a goat was until I met my husband when I was 15 years old. He was involved in goat 4-H for many years and I just followed along. I have been a part of a goat family for over 25 years now. I LOVE teaching and learning about goats and I even have a youth with sheep in my club even though I’m not as knowledgeable about that. My 4-H kids are the best, they make every day great!! I am also president of the 4-H Leaders Association and I work with the most dedicated people to make sure our 4-H youth have the best opportunities that we can give them. Come talk goat with me sometime or how we can make a positive difference in a youth’s life!
