THE CONGREGATION’S PRAYER OF CONFESSION
O Lord, the world is ever closing in around us, trying to shape us in its
mold. We have sought to be different and live like your Son. But we
confess that compromises have come. We have found ourselves
conforming to make life easier, or so we thought. Deliver us from the
desires for human approval, and the longing for what others have,
that draw us away from you. Fill us with the joy of your loving
presence. Amen.

Christ UMC offers a staffed nursery from 8:30am until after the 11am
service, in room 130, in the preschool hallway. Children, birth through
4 years old, can be dropped off and picked up as needed
throughout the morning. If you would rather keep your child with you,
an unstaffed space, in rooms 120-122, is available in case you need a
diaper change, a quiet place to rock, or some space to move
around. The worship service is broadcast through a speaker.
Hands and Feet: Do you have a skill you'd like to share with members of our
church family? Your Care Ministries would like to compile a list of our
members who would be willing to help our congregation with tasks around
the house. We're thinking of a broad range of tasks—hanging pictures,
changing light bulbs, mending, helping with canning. The list is as diverse as
the possible needs. To be a part of this new ministry, or to ask questions,
contact Marge Kramer ([email protected] or
215.429.8881).
Don't forget to buy your gift cards for Christmas! Order forms can be found
at the gift card table in the lobby. TODAY is the deadline for orders.
Giving Tree 2019: The Giving Tree, decorated with gift tags, is up in the
lobby. Please bring any gift(s) your family is contributing, wrapped and with
the original tag you selected from the tree attached to outside of the gift.
Please return all gifts to church by Sunday, December 8th. All gift cards can
be likewise labelled and put in the box on the desk where you buy grocery
gift cards. Thanks so much for your generous participation!
A gold ring was found in the nursery last Sunday. Please contact
the office if it is yours.
Safe Sanctuary Review: Are you a Sunday school teacher? Do you serve in
the nursery regularly or even once in a while? Do you assist with youth
group? If so, then it is essential that you take a few minutes to complete our
2019 annual review. It is a requirement of our annual conference that all
volunteers working with children and youth must complete an annual
review. You can find the review on our website (Forms and Policies). If you
would rather do an in-person review, please email Pastor Tawny to set up a
time to go over our policy.
Copies of the booklet of the proposed 2020 CUMC Operating Budget is
now available for pick up in the lobby. This budget will be presented for
approval at the Church Council Meeting on Tuesday, December 10th, at
7pm. All CUMC members are invited to attend.
If you are around the church, or nearby, on Wednesday nights, come out
and join us for a good meal! The meal will be available from 5-6:30pm. We
ask for a $1 donation per person. It is such a great opportunity to get to
know others and enjoy a good meal!
We are currently looking for monthly nursery volunteers during the 8:30 and
11:00 worship services. Please consider serving in this ministry if:
-you've been personally blessed by the nursery ministry
-you love kids and enjoy watching people grow and learn
-you want to share God's love with others
-you've been asking God to show you a place to serve that would bless
others
-you wish you had grandkids or wish your grandkids lived closer
-you care about the young families in our church
If you are interested in learning more, please contact Pastor Tawny.
