EATMP Validation Framework and the EATMP Validation Framework and the VDR:VDR:Validation is a key process in the development of ATM Services: A Validation Framework is being developed for EATMP including Validation Strategy, Validation Master Plan, methodologies, etc.VDR is an integral part of the Validation FrameworkIntended that the Validation Framework will be incorporated into the standard EATMP management processes
The VDR enables the structures and processes for validation information management and facilitate the exchange of knowledge for both EATMP and the ATM validation community

The VDR Security ModelUSERS
ACCESS PRIVILEGES
"CLASS" i.e. by aninformation type in the VDR.e.g. all Projects, allScenarios, all Techniques
"INSTANCE" i.e. by specificitem(s) in the VDR. e.g.Project A, Scenario X,
Techniques Y & Z
"VIEWS" define the window on whatinformation can be accessed in theVDR.A View is designed to support aspecific User purpose, e.g. enteringdata for a project, a validation expertmaintaining common listsof techniques etc., a project managerbrowsing key summary project data.

VIEW FOR ROLEB
THE VDR SECURITY MODEL
Privileges are set accordingto whether the Role shouldhave Read Only or Read/Write access to the objectsand instances in the View.If the access rights are notdefined for a type ofinformation, the Role will nothave access to it even if it isidentified in the View.
A Role has one View.A View may be associatedwith more than one Role
Users may have more than oneRoleA Role may have more than oneUser
The User's access privileges aredefined by the Role selected. Tochange either the data seen orthe access rights to the data theUser must change Role.
A Role is assigned specificprivileges to access the VDRinformation provided by theView.
The VDR Help Desk Service includes:
- maintaining User registration, issuingpasswords, setting up new Users, deletingUsers, modifying User details etc.- assigning users to Roles- setting up new Views and Roles- setting up appropriate Access Privileges forRoles

Provide windows to the information in the VDR - can see an item of information from many viewse.g. Exercise can have number of Conclusions, a
particular Conclusion can be viewed via Exercise, or via related Objective or via related Result
Navigate a user between information groups in the VDR and displays lists of items in them

Issues with Views: Issues with Views: They are not static - those currently provided are an initial
set and are likely to evolve with user commentLists of groups and items are currently displayed in
alphabetical order, further development needed e.g. List of groups by logical order e.g. Objectives, Scenarios, Results,
Conclusions and Recommendations List of items as a hierarchy (for concepts and objectives)
Is closely linked with Security Model, i.e. a view is linked to a role, a user can have many roles. This can add complexity for user to understand how to access specific information
