and visitors, are expected to dress at all times in a manner in
keeping with the Clubs standards. Shirts should have a collar,
polo, roll or crew neck. Trousers and shorts should be tailored.
Trousers should be full length. Shorts should finish just above the

Ladies - Tops may be worn tucked in or over trousers, shorts or

19th Bar, in the area in the main lounge between the two
partitions, or on the Patio. Golf shoes, provided that they are

Insurance Members, member's guests and visitors are reminded
that responsibility for any loss, injury or damage to persons or
property within or outside the boundaries of the course lies with
the individual member, not the Golf Club. If individuals are
involved in such an incident, it is imperative that, where
possible, the individual's name and contact details are conveyed to
the owner of the property or the persons concerned. Matters should
then be progressed through the individual's insurance underwriters.
With the number of properties neighbouring the course and the
number of cars, persons and animals crossing the course at various
points, the importance of individuals arranging adequate third
party liability cover themselves cannot be over-emphasised. In
addition, in case of any additional claim against the Club, for
which the Club has effected contingency cover, all such incidents
must be reported to the Club Secretary. If the Office is closed,
please write full details of the incident down and post them
through the letter box. Chris Cornish Club Secretary June 2004

Discontinuance of Play - Lightning - If lightning is about,
play must be discontinued and players must proceed in accordance
with Rule 6-8 whether or not a Klaxon is sounded. Play is
automatically discontinued on the sound of three short blasts of
the Klaxon and a player may not override the Committee's decision
in this respect. Rule 6-8. Discontinuance of Play a. When permitted
The player shall not discontinue play unless: (i) the Committee has
suspended play; (ii) he / she believes there is danger from
lightning; (iii) he is seeking a decision from the Committee on a
doubtful or disputed point (see Rules 2-5 & 34-3); or there is
some other good reason such as sudden illness. Bad weather is not
of itself a good reason for discontinuing play. If the player
discontinues play without specific permission from the Committee,
he shall report to the Committee as soon as practicable. If he does
so and the Committee considers his reason satisfactory, the player
incurs no penalty. Otherwise, the player shall be disqualified.
Exception in match play: Players discontinuing match play by
agreement are not subject to disqualification unless by so doing
the competition is delayed. Note: Leaving the course does not in
itself constitute discontinuance of play.
