Office of Sponsored ProgramsReminder for NIH Proposals
National Institutes of Health has recently madechanges to the “Other Support Format Page” for allproposals due on or after May 25.
A summary of those changes are as follows:
1. The format page has been re-organized toseparate funded projects from in-kindcontributions.
2. Signature block added, for programdirector/principal investigator or othersenior/key personnel to certify the accuracy ofthe information submitted. Each PD/PI orsenior/key personnel must electronically signtheir respective Other Support Form as a PDFprior to submission.

Dr. Helen Sable,associate chair ofEducationalInitiatives andassociate professorin the Department ofBehavioralNeuroscience, wasawarded $285,908from the NationalScience Foundationfor her project “REUSite: MemphisNeuroscienceTechniques andResearch Training(NeuroSTART)Program.
Dr. Latrice Pichon,associate professorin the Department ofSocial andBehavioral Sciences,was awarded$50,000 from theNational Institutes ofHealth, $349,813from the Centers forDisease Control and$35,700 from theState of Tennesseewith the Center ForDisease Control forher projects“Collaborating withFaith Leaders of theDeep South to Endthe Epidemic of HIVStigma,” “Ending theHIV and StigmaSyndemic: Re-framing HealthEducation Contentfor Southern BlackChurches,” and“National HIVBehavioralSurveillance 2021.”
Dr. Brian Waldron,associate professorin the Department ofCivil Engineering,and director of theCenter for AppliedEarth Science andEngineering, wasawarded $33,000from the City ofMemphis and $7,996from the City ofPiperton for hisprojects “BCS 2.0”and “City of PipertonWHP.”
Dr. Robin Poston,dean of the GraduateSchool and professorin the Department ofBusiness Informationand Technology, wasawarded $29,111from Alion Scienceand Technology withthe Department ofHomeland Security(DHS) for her project“Test and Evaluation(T&E) CourseInstruction in Supportof InformationTechnology Systemsfor T&E Managers onbehalf of DHS S&TTest and EvaluationDivision.”
Dr. MatthewSmeltzer, associateprofessor in theDepartment ofEpidemiology andBiostatistics, wasawarded $20,000from the InternationalAssociation for theStudy of LungCancer for his project“Global Survey onCOVID-19 andClinical Trials.”
Dr. MaximePaquette, associateprofessor in theDepartment of HealthSciences, wasawarded $5,134 fromLever Running for hisproject “Effects of aBody WeightUnloading System onBiomechanics andMetabolic Costduring TreadmillRunning.”
Dr. JeffreyMarchetta, associateprofessor in theDepartment ofMechanicalEngineering, wasawarded $4,615 fromVanderbilt Universitywith the NationalAeronautics andSpace Administrationfor his project“University ofMemphis SpaceGrant Program.”
