Saint John Paul’s Prayer For Peace
Lord Jesus Christ, who are called the Prince of Peace, who are yourself our peace and reconciliation,
who so often said, "Peace to you," grant us peace.
Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice, and brotherly love.
Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace.
Enlighten our rulers that they may guarantee and defend the great gift of peace.
May all peoples on the earth become as brothers and sisters.
May longed for peace blossom forth and reign always over us all.
- Pope John Paul II

God Almighty, Heavenly Father, Physician of our souls and bodies, You, who sent Your only-begotten Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, to heal every
sickness and infirmity, visit and heal also Your sick and distressed Knights and their beloved from all physical and spiritual ailments.
Through the Grace of the Holy Spirit, grant these Knights and their
beloved, patience in their sickness, strength of body and spirit, and recovery of health. Lord, You have taught us through Your Word to pray for each other that we may be healed. We pray, heal your servants and grant to
them the gift of complete health.
For You are the source of healing and to You we give glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen!

Father Michael J. McGivney Guild
The Father Michael J. McGivney Guild promotes the cause for sainthood of the founder of the Knights of
Columbus, who will be beatified on Oct. 31, 2020. Members of the Guild, and anyone devoted to Father
McGivney, can play an active role in the cause by praying for his intercession in times of need, especially in
cases of serious illness, and reporting to the Guild any favors received.
Membership in the Guild is free and open to anyone who is devoted to Father McGivney and wishes to
invoke his intercession and assist in his sainthood cause through prayer. Members receive a quarterly
newsletter and are remembered in a weekly Mass offered for their intentions.
Catholic men who wish to live out the vision and mission of Father McGivney are invited to join the
Knights of Columbus and become part of a network of charity, unity and fraternity that serves local parishes
and communities.
Father McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus in 1882 in New Haven, Conn., and died at the age of
38 in 1890. His cause for sainthood was opened in 1997, and his heroic virtue was recognized by the
Vatican in March 2008, when he was declared a Venerable Servant of God by Pope Benedict XVI.
On May 26, 2020, Father McGivney took another step toward sainthood when Pope Francis approved the
promulgation of a decree recognizing a miracle attributed to his intercession. With the approval of this
miracle, he will be beatified on Oct. 31, 2020, with the title of Blessed.
Another miracle through his intercession is needed for him to be canonized as a saint.
Those devoted to Father McGivney are encouraged to recite regularly the prayer for his canonization, which
is available online and on a special prayer card. You may Report Favors through this website or by email or
regular mail at the addresses listed below.
The Guild has more than 175,000 members, and you are encouraged to join by filling out and submitting
the online form. Please assist in the cause of Father McGivney by spreading the word about this holy and
blessed priest.

Supreme Knight's Annual Report
It is our fraternal approach to charity and our fraternal approach to unity that
makes us so different from other charitable organizations, said Supreme Knight
Carl Anderson.
He highlighted past achievements and new initiatives, such as more than 540,000
units of blood donated and nearly $5 million in combined disaster relief, while
stressing the importance of the Knights’ commitment to Christian brotherhood.
Supreme Knight Anderson shares these achievements, and so much more, in his
annual report.

Lord, make me an instrument of Your Peace: Where there is hatred, let
me sow love; Where there is injury,
pardon; Where there is doubt,
faith; Where there is despair,
hope; Where there is darkness,
light; And where there is
sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much
seek To be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning
that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen

The government’s own definition attests to the fact
that life begins at fertilization. According to the National
Institutes of Health, “fertilization” is the process of
union of two gametes (i.e., ovum and sperm) “whereby the somatic chromosome number
is restored and the development of a new individual is initiated.”

Culture of Life
From Brother Curt Kuper
Hello! My name is Rachel Keller and I am the new vice-president for Project Defending Life!
I am working with Mr. Curt Kuper on the 40 Days for Life campaign this Fall and am so excited because I know how powerful it is and how many lives are changed as a result of our peaceful, prayerful witness to the beauty of life.
I understand that the 40 Days for Life campaign usually starts with an opening rally, but unfortunately, we will not be able to gather in a large group this year. Instead, we are asking all the churches who are participating in the 40 Days of peaceful prayer and fasting to dedicate their Mass/church service on the Sunday prior to the beginning of the campaign (Sunday, September 20th) to the sanctity of life and the success of this campaign!
In my prayer this year, this one scripture has come up time and again, so I thought I would share it with you all as an encouragement for our collective efforts throughout these 40 Days:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be reformed in the newness of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and the acceptable and the perfect will of God.” –Romans 12:2.
May we always remember that every good thing comes from the Lord and rejoice in hope for the goodness to come! May we begin these 40 Days in peace and joy and experience a daily reformation of our hearts and minds. And may we be steadfast in seeking what is the perfect will of God.
God bless you all; I’ll see you on the sidewalk!
In Christ,
Rachel Keller Vice President, Project Defending Life [email protected]

Knights of Columbus Insurance
S&P Global Ratings issued a report that ranked all of its rated North American Life Insurance Companies from strongest to weakest. God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue
may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater
confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify your
venerable servant Father Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I
now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Knight’s Prayer
Our Lady, Queen of the Knights, bless all the activities of our Order. Keep us true to our pledge, to extend the kingship of thy divine son on
earth. Through Thine intercession, win for us the grace, ever to exemplify in our public and private lives, the virtues that should characterize those
especially dedicated to the service of the heavenly court. Make us always aware that as your Knights, we are constantly observed, our faith
judged, and our Order appreciated. Accept, O Mary, this renewed pledge of fealty and devotion, of Thy
Servants, the Knights of Columbus. http://www.kofc11768.org/?page_id=19
