February 2017
Newsletter Introduction Welcome to the Scottish Clinical Imaging Network winter newsletter. This edition will summarise the work that SCIN has undertaken or been involved in
through the autumn into the winter of 2016/2017.
SCIN Steering Group The SCIN steering group met on 10th November 2016 and welcomed NHS Scotland commissioners
to the steering group meeting who met the steering group to undertake the first annual performance
review of the network. The steering group agreed that the SCIN Quality
Subgroup and the Standardisation of Imagining Subgroup should be combined into a Quality Improvement Group, given the similar remit of their
respective workplans.
“SCIN aims to influence the development of an innovative, equitable patient centred service
through the delivery of high quality clinically effec-tive imaging services across Scotland.” The SCIN Horizon Scanning is a year old!
The group is working with the NHS Shared Services Imaging Portfolio Board, Dr Hamish McRitchie
(Subject Matter Expert) continues to be the interface between Shared Services and SCIN.
The group has developed a ‘Wellbeing at Work ’ poster that will be provided to Imaging Departments
in the very near future.
Scottish Clinical Imaging Network (SCIN)
Farewell from Anne Marie Sinclair
My three year term as lead clinician of SCIN comes to an end at the beginning of April 2017. It has been
an enjoyable and challenging experience in a time of rising demand for our services, staffing
issues and economic constraints. An advert has been placed for my successor with a closing date of the 17th of February.
SCIN relies on interested and motivated individuals to
give of their time, energy and expertise to push forward improvements to the imaging service across Scotland. If you are not already involved, please
consider joining network activities. I would like to thank all those involved in the network
who have supported me in my role and would like to wish SCIN, and its future lead clinician, every success in continuing this work.
