DisplayPort is smaller than DVI (or Dsub) and
can use longer cables than DVI and HDMI.
DisplayPort oers more bandwith than DVI or
HDMI.
Besides control by RS232 interaces, P series models
can also use ethernet. NEC popular PC Control
sotware has been adapted to allow a host o network
unctions. In addition, the display can generate alarm
emails in the unlikely event o a problem with the
power supply, ans, overheating or the inverter.
Display Port is a VESA defned digital
interace or video and audio transmission,

Display Port
Enables longer cables than DVI and
HDMI meaning the user has more
reedom in terms o where he wants to
place the signal source.
Ethernet LAN Control
Enables alarm emails which notiy the
user o a problem. This minimises down
time. It also is more convenient to use

PORTRAIT MODE OSD ROTATION
IMPROVED SCHEDULER
The user can now select the picture mode unction with a
choice o Highbright, Standard, Ambient 1 and Ambient 2.
This enables the user to activate the ambient light sensor
only at certain times. This eature can also work in a similar
manner with an externally connected ambient light sensor.
When a P Series Display is rotated between portrait and
landscape mode, the user can rotate the OSD panel depending
upon the displays orientation allowing a more ergonomic user-
riendly set-up.
Advantages
OSD Rotation
No more bending your head when using the display in portrait
orientation. Simple, but eective!
Improved Scheduler
Empowers the user to control the displays with the scheduler by
defning operation time, source and brightness level, a new eature.
This helps optimise brightness and thereore minimises power
consumption and potentially uncomortable brightness levels.
Fan Speed Control
Being able to determine the temperature threshhold or an
activation helps optimize complicated and demanding installations
in terms o operating temperature o the display which in turn
secures reliabilty and longevity.
FAN SPEED CONTROL
The user has ull control over the ans o the display.
He can determine when the displays are supposed to
start and he can dene the speed o the ans. When
using the NEC built in PC the ans must be used. The
noise is minimized to an inaudible level by using low
an speed.

GROUP ID AND REMOTE ID
COPY SETTINGS VIA RS-232 DAISY CHAIN
Group ID : In addition to Monitor ID unction 1 100, Group ID
(A to J :10 ID) can be set. Group ID allows control o multiple
monitors seamlessly by only one command. This unction allows
users to change certain settings only or a dened group. This
can be used or input switching.
Remote ID : When the ambient light /inrared sensors are
installed and displays are daisy chained through 3,5mm jack,
each display can be discretely addressed via remote control.
This enables the user to conveniently change any setting o any
display with remote control (or instance input, colour, etc.)
The copy settings unction is a unique eature which is controlled
through the OSD. The user selects the settings he would like to transer
to another display. This can be all settings or just selected ones. Data
is then copied through a RS232 cable within a ew seconds.
This eature can be used without a PC directly rom the display
ID : 1G-ID : A
ID : 2G-ID : A
ID : 3G-ID : B
ID : 6G-ID : B
ID : 5G-ID : A
ID : 4G-ID : A
ID : 7G-ID : C
ID : 8G-ID : C
ID : 9G-ID : C
Advantages
Group ID
The group ID eature allows the user to controlclusters o displays in a video wall with one
RS232 command. This videowall eature allows
or conveniently switching, or example, inputs
during a stage presentation which would otherwise
require expensive additional equipment.
Copy Settings Function
This eature is a real cost saver. The user can
copy all settings rom one display to another with
an RS232 cable beore mounting the screen
saving him the time to go rom display to display
to adjust the settings to the desired level. No PC
is needed or this operation.

Custom Detect has been added to the conventional auto
detecting unction.
NEC conventional (old) auto detect.
FIRST DETECT :
Displaying signal is lost change to the other signal
LAST DETECT :
New signal is input change to the new signal
VIDEO DETECT :
Video, DVD/HD, HDMI is higher priority than RGB signal. Users
can now customize the priority o the input signal.
QUICK INPUT CHANGE
USER DEFINED INPUT DETECT PRIORITY
VGA to DVI
- at Normal mode : 2.5 sec
- at Quick mode : 0.48 sec
Example:
DVI to VGA
- at Normal mode : 2.1 sec
- at Quick mode : 0.36 sec
Some applications may require switching back and orth
between several inputs. Especially video wall applications.
Setting Quick allows the user to change input at very high
speed.
* Changing time depends on input/signal.
Advantages
Hardware Calibration
The P-Series is perect to create matched video-walls, but also,
stood alone, it reproduces media and images in the colours
that were intended. Advertising Agencies can draw on the
benefts o large displays confdent o colour accuracy.
Quick Input Change
Avoids long switching times and black screens when switching
between inputs. This can be convenient or video conerence
systems or video wall installations where long interruptions are
not acceptable.
User Defned Input Priority
The user can defne how the display should prioritise the signals
it receives. E.g. Last Detect means the display will switch to any
new signal it receives.
Example: As a security eature a shopping mall wants to send warning
messages to the public display network in case o an emergency. All the user
has to do is send the warning message. The display will automatically switch
to the new signal without any urther intervention. However, it will not switch
back to the original signal, once the warning message disappears. With the
new custom priority it is possible to defne input priority. The emergency
warning would be No1. and the standard signal No2. When the warning
message is sent, the display switches to the warning message. As soon as
the warning disappears, the display will go back to No.2 priority input. Other
signals that may be ed to the display will be ignored as long as there is a
signal rom a higher priority input.
HARDWARE CALIBRATION P-Series include a connection or an external Calibration
Sensor and have 10-bit internal Look Up Tables so the display
can be accurately calibrated to reproduce truly representative
colours.

IMPROVED SCREEN SAVER
INPUT NAMING
TILE MATRIX (INTEGRATED SPLITTER)
Instead o just having the deault input names (VGA, DVI, etc.) the user
can customise the name by up to eight characters to better match thesource. BLURAY, XBOX360, HDDVD, CISCO, DIRECTTV, CAMERA1,
NANNYCAM, etc. could be used.
P-Series supports up to 10 x 10 Video wallsTile comp (bezel width compensation) is also supported
Up to 100 IDs are also supported
Thereore, 100 displays can be daisy chained with RS232 and
addressed individually.
The new screen saver allows adjustment o positionalco-ordinates, timing and size, with Zoom level rom
95% to 105% in increments o 1% and intervals rom
10 to 900 seconds in increments o 10 seconds
Advantages
Improved Screen SaverThe improved screen saver gives the
user more reedom to defne how the
content should be moved, avoiding
image retention, minimising disruption
and maximising the protective eect.
Input Naming
Instead o using the name o the
input, the user can actually use the
name o the device such as Videocon,
Xbox or whatever is connected to the
input. This can be very convenient or
displays used occasionally like a video-
conerence system where the user
might wonder what input is the right
one or the system or PC.
Tile Matrix with 100 IDs
The integrated splitter supports up to
10x10 video-walls including 100 IDs.
So the user can address each display
individually via remote control or
RS232.
