Dr. Schauer and the members of Symphonic Choir extend our heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to Abby Eckert for whom this is the last Symphonic Choir concert, as she will be
student teaching in the spring. She has been generous in contributing the best of her talent, energy and time to the betterment of the choir, and she will be sorely missed.
We know she will leave us to continue growing in her personal journey and to enrich the world with the gifts she has shared with us.

Just a few more weary days and then I’ll fly away. To that land where joy will never end I’ll fly away. I’ll fly away, oh glory, I’ll fly away. When I die, Hallelujah, by and by, I’ll fly away.

La Llorona (The Weeping Woman)
You were going out of the temple, LloronaWhen I saw you passing by.A beautiful huipil you were wearing, LloronaThat I thought you were the virgin.Llorona of heaven’s blue color.
People say I’m not in mourning, LloronaBecause they don’t see me cry. There are dead ones that don’t make noise, LloronaAnd whose suffering is so much greater.Llorona of heaven’s blue color
Requiem aeternam
Rest eternal grant them, O Lord, and light eternal shine upon them.
O Vos Omnes (adapted from Lamentations 1:12)
O all ye who pass this way, behold and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow. Behold, all you people, and see my sorry, if there be any sorry like unto my sorrow.
Wenn ich einmal soll scheiden
When I depart, then do not depart from me, when I shall suffer death, then walk beside me! When my heart is at its most fearful, then tear me from my anxieties through your fear and suffering!
Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen
How lovely are thy dwellings: thou Lord of hosts! My soul longs and yearns to enter into the courts of the Lord:my heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God.Blessed are they that dwell in thy house:they will always be praising thee. How lovely are thy dwellings!

Soneto LXXXIX
When I die I want your hands on my eyes:I want the light and the wheat of your beloved handsto pass their freshness over me one more timeto feel the smoothness that changed my destiny.
I want you to live while I wait for you, asleep,I want for your ears to go on hearing the wind, for you to smell the sea that we loved togetherand for you to go on walking the sand where we walked.
I want for what I love to go on livingand, as for you, I loved you and sang you above everything, for that, go on flowering, beautiful one,
so that you reach all that my love hopes for you,so that my shadow passes through your hair,so that they know by this the reason for my song.
La Martiniana
Little girl, when I die don’t cry over my grave.Sing me a beautiful song, oh mother, sing to me “La Sandunga.”Star of the morning, the king of all songs, sings the Martiniana, oh mother, that breaks hearts.Do not cry for me, no, do not cry for me because if you cry I will keep suffering. On the contrary, if you sing to me I will always live, I will never die.If you want me to remember you,if you want me never to forget you, sing happy songs, oh mother, music that will never die.
La Sandunga
Last night I went to your house, I knocked three times by the door knocker,You’re no good when it comes to love, you’re deep in sleep.Oh! Sandunga, Sandunga, by God, woman!Don’t be so ungrateful, Sandunga, woman of my heart.
You offered to accompany me from church to my house,But you never came, and I had to come back alone.Oh! Sandunga, Sandunga, by God, woman!Don’t be so ungrateful, Sandunga, woman of my heart.
