BIZARRE?

A Florida family was woken upat 4 am by a 6.8 kg package of

frozen pork that fell on their Deer-field Beach house’s roof last Satur-day. Travis Adair said that his wife,Jennie, found two bundles of meatoutside the house, and his son,Austin, found three on the roof.Themeat was given away by its owner,Jim Williams, who lives 270 km awayfrom the Adair family and wasstumped by the mystery too. — AP

BIZARRE?

I was not trying to bring in any compari-son. The moment I say, ‘Oh we did this, and they didn’t do that’, then, obviously, that is kind of below the belt and I am notthat kind of a person. People know meand that I am classier than that, but itwas interesting to see the reactions tothat. I realize that trolling has become apart of social media that one cannotignore when you are in the public eye.But then, in a very strange way, it doeshelp in bringing a subject into the spot-light. There are more civilized ways ofdoing that, but social media does notallow that. You have to be very straight-forward in saying things and you need tohave an opinion, and even if you are con-vinced about what you are saying, peopleare going to go against you.

LIVING OUT OF A SUITCASE

There is the World 6 Red SnookerChampionship inEgypt fromAugust 1, so I amoff in a week’stime. My sport hastaken me to almost40 countries inthese years, some ofthem multiple times, but I haven’t really beenable to explore them asmuch as I would have wanted. The irony is that to be able to dothat you have to lose early on in the tour-nament and that is not something thatyou would want to.

There are times, though, when I am ontour in a new place and that feeling ofwanting to return to the comfort of homesets in. Then, all I want to do is sit in frontof my TV, eat home-cooked food and lazearound. The whole process of competing, including the preparation, living out asuitcase, eating food you are not used to,

being in cli-mates that arealien to you formost part ofthe year — allof that is goodfor a while, butthen you get

into that zone inwhich you just

want to finish thetournament and

come back home.Which is what I did after

Krygyzstan.

32 AND STILL SINGLEI have won so many trophies and titles inmy career, but I haven’t been able to wina girl. So, the single status remains andwill for a while. I haven’t really beeninvolved much in that direction in find-ing the right person, because my sched-ule has taken me more towards mycareer.

I HAVE WONTROPHIES AND TITLESIN MY CAREER, BUTHAVEN’T BEEN ABLE

TO WIN A GIRL. SO, THESINGLE STATUS WILL

REMAIN FOR AWHILE
