ESN identifies an NE uniquely. During network deployment, the installation engineer reports the mapping relation between the location of each site and the ESN to the staff at the maintenance center. Before delivery, the ESN is attached to the BBU of the eNodeB, as shown in the Figure

BindEsn and Allocate IP addressPurpose: allocate OM related IP address to eNodeB by DHCP
function� After importing EDS data to M2000, records will be created in DHCP
Configuration Management panel.
� If the eNodeB has been powered on , eNodeB will broadcast DHCP DISCOVER .
� If the transmission is OK, and the DHCP relay function has been enabled on transmission device, M2000 will receive the DHCP DISCOVER message as following.
� Correspondingly, on eNodeB Auto Development panel, the ESN number carried by DHCP DISCOVER will be shown as following:

DownloadSoftware: M2000 will compare eNodeB current version with the
target version. � If not the target version , download it from M20000;� If the target version, skip this step;
DownloadData: M2000 will download the M2000.xml file to eNodeB;
Activate: M2000 will activate the software version and the configuration file.
At the end , eNodeB will be reset. � If not choose the step, site will not be reset.
You can monitor every eNodeB’s status by the Current Step and Current Step
Progress:

Manually Intervene eNodeB
Commissioning
� If eNodeB commissioning tasks are in the Waiting for
manual operation state, right-click the tasks, and then
choose Manual Confirm from the shortcut menu. The
Confirm dialog box is displayed, asking you whether to
proceed with the commissioning.
� Continue: Click Yes. The eNodeB commissioning tasks switch
to the Running state.
� Stop: Click No. The eNodeB commissioning tasks are still in
the Waiting for manual operation state.

Manage eNodeB Commissioning Task
� Once commissioning task is created, we can manage it by
the following methods
� Cancel the eNodeB Commissioning Progress, The tasks return
to the Waiting for start state.
� Pause/Resume the eNodeB Commissioning Task
� Restart/Delete the eNodeB Commissioning Task

Confirm eNodeB Commissioning
Completion
� After eNodeB passes service verification, the status of the
eNodeB commissioning tasks changes to Waiting for
acknowledgement. You need to manually confirm the
completion.
� In the commissioning task list, select one or multiple
commissioning tasks for confirming the completion. Right-
click the tasks, and then choose Acknowledge Completion
from the shortcut menu to confirm the completion.

check report. Learn the running status of the eNodeB

man-machine language (MML) commands on the M2000.
� If you commission the RET antenna using the GUI on the
M2000, you can update the RET software, download the
RET configuration file, and set the RET tilt as required when
starting a commissioning task.
