Hey LIFEFORCE! We are so excited to have Pastor Chris Musgrove with us for the next few months! He’ll be bringing dramas, powerful teaching, and that good ol’ southern accent we’ve all grown to love!

Usually the friends that you have reflect the person that you are. Accepting that

it may be time to let a friend go is never an easy thing to do, but allowing God to help you and be your strength is most important.

I remember when I decided I was going to take my relationship with God serious, the first thing I had to change was the friends that I had. It wasn’t that they were bad people, but they were heading in a different direction then I knew God wanted me to go in.

God began to show me how a lot of the things that I was doing was a result of the friends that I had kept so close.

The people that are closest to you should always be challenging you to be a betterperson and to be a true reflection of God on this earth.

In John 17:14-18 Jesus is praying for us. He is talking to God, the Father about us.

I have given them Your Word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I’m not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.

They do not belong to this world any more than I do. Make them holy by Your truth; teach

them Your word, which is truth Just as You sent Me into the world, I am sending them into the world.

Rejection is something that most people experience when they decide to let go of what they want and do things God’s way. If your growing relationship with God is causing you to feel rejection from your friends, read Jesus’ prayer. Remind yourself that even Jesus dealt with rejection.

The Bible says REJOICE when people talk bad about you for doing things His way – You have a great reward in heaven! (Matthew 5:12)

SEND ME, I’LL GOWhat could compel someone to just pack their bags and jump on a plane to Cambodia?

At the age of fourteen, LIFEFORCE’S own Esther Gualtieri journeyed to Mexico for her first

missions trip, where she witnessed children barely clothed, uncared for, begging for food just about everywhere. It was right then and there that she cried out to God in the simplest of forms: “Please, Father, help me rescue children like this.”

God answered her call three years later, when she was interning at Camp Decision creating slides about mission trips. This particular one was in Cambodia, a place that Esther had never even thought about, much less knew the geographical location. However, there was one particular picture of a fifteen year old holding a baby in her hand that immediately touched her heart and took her on incredible journey.

When Esther learned about the horrors of worldwide child trafficking, she was stunned to the point of disbelief. “I had no idea such a thing existed. I didn’t even know it was possible.”

Estimates say as many as 5,200 girls have been smuggled into Cambodia from Vietnam and sold as prostitutes to brothel owners who bind the girls with contracts which last from six months to over a year. The girls are then sold to strangers and taken away for days, weeks, and months on end.

The revelation of this heavy information brought Gualtieri to her knees; she remembers “immediately know[ing] that God was connecting to what I had asked.”

This July she plans on going to Cambodia for ten days to make a change and show girls that child trafficking is not a way a life, but something the enemy has thrown at them. When talking about her mission trips, she gushes “It’s my calling.” Gualtieri plans on grouping up with medical professionals and volunteers to help give medical attention to rescued girls. She even plans on going undercover in Cambodia’s Svay Pak red-light district, where some volunteers there “purchase” girls for a night of “dignity and the love of Jesus.”

REWIND by Nyeshia Garland

O n April 16, LIFEFORCE students showed up to the WOL Annual

Picnic at CB Smith Park. Over one hundred church members and newcomers in total took part in the all day event.

People brought in food for the thousands, sending everyone home stuffed with plenty of seconds– and thirds– to indulge in.

Our smaller, mighty members of the Children’s Ministry took part in an endless array of acativities, including jumping through bounce houses, tackling opponents in flag football, and becoming a character with the help of face paint.

All the while, the LIFEFORCE crew relaxed under the shade with the sounds of music pumping through the air, and the company of great friends and family.

The event was simply a great success, not a surprise to all the members of the Word of Life family.
