Happy Teaching!
“We especially need imagination in science. It is not all mathematics, nor all logic, but it is
somewhat beauty and poetry.” Maria Montessori

PrimaryMaths

The relationship between addition and subtraction
If we subtract one of the addends (3 or 2) from the result of the addition (5), we are left with the other addend.
From every addition, 2 subtractions are possible.
6 + 3 = 9 9 – 6 = 3
9 – 3 = 6
5 – 3 = 2 5 – 2 = 33 + 2 = 5
Take a look at this addition.

Multiplying three-digit numbers by two-digit numbers
Pupil Book | Page 36
Dear Green Dragon, I have to go back to the beach
to lay my eggs. Hundreds of turtles will lay thousands
of eggs.
24 816 Turtles will be born.
528 of us have come here to lay our eggs and each one of us will lay 18 eggs. How many turtles will be born?
Do the operation in your notebook following the steps you already know and check
528 x 47 = 24 8169

Dividing with zeros in the quotient
We divide 181 between 3.
1st Because 1 is smaller than 3, we divide 18 between 3.
2nd We bring the next digit down from the dividend.
3rd Because 1 is smaller than 3 we write zero in the quotient and we have finished.

MATHScon Realidad Aumentada
