SA 189 "America's First Golf Photo" 20x24 On the morning of February 22, 1888, John Reid told his friends to meet him on the old cow pasture across from where he lived. Just days earlier, Reid had received his precious cargo straight from Old Tom Morris shop in St. Andrews. On that historic day, three golf holes, about 100 yards long, were laid out over the bumpy terrain and cups were dug up from the ground with the head of a cleek. Golf had finally come to America.

We have also included one the last remaining 1st day cover issued by the US Postal Service to honor this achievement.The number of golfers tripled within the first 5 years after this remarkable victory by an unknown.

SA 607 "Lance Armstrong American Flag" 24X30 LANCE ARMSTONG won the Tour de France a record breaking seven consecutive years, from 1999 to 2005. In 1999, he was named the American Broadcasting

Company Wide World of Sports Athlete of the Year. In 2000 he won the Prince of Asturias Award in Sports. In 2002, Sports Illustrated magazine named him Sportsman of the Year. He was also named Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year for 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. He received ESPN's ESPY Award for Best Male Athlete in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006, and won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Overseas Personality Award in 2003. Armstrong retired from racing on July 24, 2005, at the end of the 2005 Tour de France, but returned to competitive cycling in January 2009.

SA 738 "Beatles Fab 4" 26 x 36 The "Fab Four," as the Beatles were often referred to, included guitarist John Lennon, bassist Paul McCartney, lead guitarist George Harrison, and drummer Ringo Starr. All four Beatles sang, though Lennon and McCartney sang lead on most songs, both Harrison and Starr usually sang lead on at least one song each

per album.

The comet was last visible from Stonehenge 4,200 years ago, during the time of actual construction of the stone monument

SA 511 "Golf's 1st Beverage Cart" 19x23 The need to have a drink during, after, or even before a round of golf is not new. Golfers have had the same need since the game began at the Old Course at St. Andrews. The preferred drink in the 1800s was milk, ginger beer or a scotch.

SA 750 "In Step" 26x34 Peter O'Neill presides over the largest artist owned gallery in St. Augustine, Fla., posting sales of more than $500,000 a year, but success didn't come quickly or easily to the New York native. O'Neill's childhood dream was to become an artist, but he received little in the way of positive reinforcement. O'Neill could never shake the feeling that art was his true calling in life. O'Neill is entirely self taught, a fact of which he is quite proud. For O'Neill, art is a communication between the viewer and the creator.

John F. Kennedy was sworn in as the 35th President at noon on January 20, 1961.

In his inaugural address he spoke of the need for all Americans to be active

citizens, famously saying, "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what

you can do for your country." He also asked the nations of the world to join

together to fight what he called the "common enemies of man: tyranny, poverty,

disease, and war itself." He added: "All this will not be finished in the first one

hundred days. Nor will it be finished in the first one thousand days, nor in the

life of this Administration, nor even perhaps in our lifetime on this planet. But let

us begin." In closing, he expanded on his desire for greater internationalism:

"Finally, whether you are citizens of America or citizens of the world ask of us

here the same high standards of strength and sacrifice which we ask of you."

Earhart's flight would not be the first to circle the globe, but it would be the

longest, 29,000 miles, following an equatorial route. On March 17, 1937 she flew

the first leg, from Oakland, California to Honolulu, Hawaii.

As scientists in Europe continued to debate the extraterrestrial origins of

meteorites, their counterparts in the United States discounted the theoryuntil

a meteorite landed in their backyard. In 1807, astonished residents watched a

fireball explode in the skies above Weston, Connecticut. Weston was the first

documented meteorite fall in the recently established nation, then just 31 years

old.
