Crisis Nursery We provide short-term emergency care

for children of families who are experi-

encing a severe disruptive crisis or who

are challenged with other urgent family

matters and concerns.

Children ages newborn through six

years receive round-the-clock childcare

(for up to 72 hours a stay), in a safe and

nurturing environment. Families may

utilize the Maryville Crisis Nursery up to

30 times in a rolling calendar year.

The Maryville Crisis Nursery provides

families with immediate support, coun-

seling, and referrals to community re-

sources for extended services. The

quality services provided to both the

children and families in need are FREE.

The Maryville Crisis Nursery is the only

temporary emergency shelter of its kind

in the Chicago area.

Parent Cafés Parent Cafés engage parents in meaningful conversation about what matters most — their family and how to strengthen it with protective factors. Our Parent Cafés focus on mitigating the negative impacts of trauma. Family discus-sions will be focused on parenting issues with children ages birth to age 8. Dinner at 5:30 p.m.; Café from 6 p.m. –7:30 p.m. Child Care is provided. Raffle prizes, giveaways and a book for each child to take home!

Clearbrook’s “Take A Break” Program Clearbrook and Maryville’s Children’s Health-care Center offer an opportunity for caregivers to enjoy a regularly scheduled break while their child (birth to age 5 with special needs) plays in a supervised setting. The Baby TALK Model Baby TALK (Teaching Activities for Learning and Knowledge) nurtures school readiness and optimal child devel-opment by supporting infants, toddlers and their parents. Parents and children 3 years and under welcome. Classes offered every 1st Tuesday of the month.

The Lapsit Model Lapsits are literacy-based group encounters designed to promote language between parents and toddlers. They also provide parents with a place to share and socialize with one another. Parents and children 3 years and under welcome. Classes offered every 3rd Tuesday of the month.
