Mannheim/Higgins
Lee/Touhy
Municipality: Village of Skokie Major Considerations: • Placing the stations on the street instead of at
the CTA station would reduce delays that can occur as a result of the time it takes for the bus to turn around.
• In addition, traffic generated by vehicles within the station parking lot and adjacent retail drive-thru would impede service efficiency.
• Alternative 2 would l require further coordination with the Village of Skokie and ComEd
Municipality: City of Des Plaines (Eastbound Alternate 1), Village of Rosemont (Eastbound Alternate 2 and Westbound Alternate 1), City of Chicago, 41st Ward, (Westbound Alternate 2)Major Considerations:• Alternative 1 would require a midblock
crossing of a busy roadway and could pose a safety concern
• Alternative 2 is near a Northwest Suburban Municipal Joint Action Water Agency line. Station placement will need to consider an appropriate buffer/distance
Municipality: City of Des PlainesMajor Considerations:• Eastbound Alternative 2 would provide a close
connection to adjacent businesses east of the proposed station
• There is an existing bus shelter at Westbound Alternative 2 which would need to be reconstructed as a full station
• The stations in this area would need to be located at least 100 feet from intersections so that turning car movements do not cause safety/crash risks.
• Ultimate station location will need to consider potential impact or use of parks as environmental analyses are conducted
Lee-Mannheim/Oakton
Des Plaines Metra
Municipality: City of Des PlainesMajor Considerations:• Alternative 2 could provide a more direct
transfer/connection with Pace Routes 226 and 230
• Alternative 1 would require a midblock crossing of a busy roadway which poses a safety concern
Municipality: City of Des PlainesMajor Considerations:• The eastbound station would provide a direct
connection to the Des Plaines Metra station • Pace has coordinated closely with the City
of Des Plaines on the westbound alternatives. The Westbound Alternative 3 provides a good amount of space needed for the station
• The westbound station would likely be longer than typical Pulse stations due to the amount of bus routes that converge at this location
Dee/Potter
Western/Luther
Municipality/Jurisdiction: City of Park Ridge (east-bound) & Maine Township (westbound)Major Considerations:• A station is proposed at either Potter or Dee, not
at both• All alternative locations are near intersections to
minimize midblock street crossings • For Potter, the Eastbound and Westbound
Alternative 2 would provide close proximity to Main East High School
• For Dee, there are many challenges that will need to be investigated further including drainage, park resources, and driveway locations
Municipality: City of Park Ridge (eastbound) & Village of Niles (westbound)
Major Considerations:• Eastbound and Westbound Alternative 1
would serve high ridership along Western Avenue, including destinations such as Lutheran General Hospital and retail
Cumberland
Milwaukee
Municipality: Village of Niles
Major Considerations:• Eastbound Alternative 1 provides a closer
connection to surrounding businesses than Eastbound Alternative 2
• The westbound alternative would avoid conflicts with the fire station at the northeast corner of the intersection
Municipality: Village of Niles
Major Considerations:• Westbound Alternative 3 and Eastbound
Alternative 1 would provide better transfer capability for existing riders transferring between northbound Milwaukee and westbound Dempster and are proximate to surrounding activity generators
Harlem
Waukegan
Municipality: Village of Niles (eastbound) & Village of Morton Grove (westbound)
Major Considerations:• These stations would provide a connection
to Pace Route 423 which has a stop on Harlem, just south of the intersection
Municipality: Village of Morton Grove
Major Considerations:• Westbound Alternative 2 is adjacent to the
Morton Grove Park District Building, which hosts programming that would generate additional ridership
• Eastbound Alternative 1 would provide a close connection to other activity generators in this area including retail and shopping
Austin
Dempster-Skokie CTA
Municipality: Village of Morton Grove
Major Considerations:• There is just one alternative for eastbound
and westbound stations in this area • These stations would be in close
proximity to nearby retail and shopping destinations
Municipality: Village of SkokieMajor Considerations:• Placing the stations on the street instead of at
the CTA station would reduce delays that can occur as a result of the time it takes for the bus to turn around
• In addition, traffic generated by vehicles within the station parking lot and adjacent retail drive-thru currently impedes bus movement in station
• Alternative 2 would require further coordination with the Village of Skokie and ComEd
Crawford
Lincolnwood
Municipality: Village of Skokie
Major Considerations:• In general, there is limited available space
to construct a station in this area• As design progresses, refinement to station
layout and design will be explored due to limited right-of-way and driveways in this area
Municipality: Village of Skokie
Major Considerations:• There are several driveways in this area which
make station placement challenging for safety and operational reasons
• Eastbound and Westbound Alternative 2 are both located near the intersection which would avoid potential mid-block crossings posed in the other alternatives
Dodge
Municipality: City of Evanston
Major Considerations:• There are several driveways in this
area which makes station placement challenging
• Additional design and engineering will more closely explore configurations of these alternatives
Davis CTA/Metra
Municipality: City of Evanston
Major Considerations:
• Pulse Dempster Line would use existing station
• No significant investments in this station location are planned
Municipality: City of Chicago
Major Considerations:• Pulse Dempster Line would use the

• No significant investments in this station location are planned
