• Bauer produce magazines that are both niche and mainstream. They produce a wide range of magazines from music magazines to fishing magazines which means there’s a magazine for everyone to read.

Who makes up their target audiences?

• Bauer Media publish wide variety of different magazines therefore cater for many different target audiences including men, women and teenagers. There are bird watching magazines for those who are into bird watching, car magazines for those who are interested in cars, etc.

What is the brand image?

• The brand image is a simple blue box with a white triangle in the top right hand corner of the box with ‘Bauer’ written at the bottom of the box in capital letters and in white. Below the box are the words ‘media group’ in capital letter and in black. It’s a simple yet effective brand image in the sense that it is recognisable.

• There are links with the magazines and other media. For example, Heat, Kerrang and Q can be accessed through both magazines, radios and on TV. However, Heat can accessed on those platforms plus on mobiles and online.

• The company are a part of a larger media company as they own magazines, radio stations and television programmes.

IPC Media is the UK’s leading consumer publisher for mass market women as they produce magazines that are appealing to women of different ages. IPC Media caters for them through a portfolio of famous media brands, printed and online. IPC Media is a leading content provider for today’s man.

• The brand image is the company name written in different shades of blue and in different font styles.

• There are links with the magazines and other media. For example, Look, NME, TV Times and Ideal Home can be accessed on different platforms.
