• You will need to register the first time you use Lynda.com

In order to access Lynda.com: myUniHub > MyStudy > MyLibrary
Select ‘Databases’ from the list of resources
Choose ‘L’ for Lynda.com
Then click ‘here’ to access Lynda.com
You may see this screen when you try to access Lynda.com. If you do then…
….type ‘Middlesex’ here and then select ‘Middlesex University’ from the list....
…..you will then be asked to log in…..….click on ‘Go to the Middlesex University login page’....
….then use your computer network/UniHub username and password to login in.
This is the log in pageThe first time you use Lynda.com you must create a profile including username and password. Use your Middlesex email address and any password you want…..
…..you can then use this username and password to log in to your account.

Enter your details and click on ‘log in’
You can now start using Lynda.com
Your course viewing history is available from here (more later).
Browse what is available here (see next slide). Use the search box
to find what you are interested in learning e.g. Java programming, Word, or CV writing.

……then choose a topic (e.g. Leadership), software (e.g. Excel) or a ‘Learning path’ such as ‘Become an Agile Project Manager’…..
Hover over ‘Library’ to see a list of broad subject headings such as ‘Business’……

…..or you can click on ‘Library’ to see a list of all subjects and select what you are interested in.
The number of courses available for each subject are listed here. Courses are made up of short (bitesize) tutorials.
Then choose a course to watch
Click on the title to start viewing
Make sure you have the latest course by sorting your search results by ‘Release date (newest first)’
Use the side menu to help you find exactly what you want.
See how long each course is, what learning level it is aimed at and how many people have already viewed it.
Additional featuresIf you require a transcript, then click here
See a history of the courses you have watched
Click here and then select ‘History’ from the drop-down menu.
When you have watched an entire course, you can print out a ‘Certificate of completion’
Creating a Playlist
It is possible to create a Playlist of your favourite tutorials or courses and share with other people. Click on ‘Add to playlist’…..
…..Create a new playlist by clicking here, give it a name and ‘Create’ or add to an existing ‘Playlist’.
Playlists continued…..You can look at your Playlists by clicking here. Select ‘Playlists’ from the drop-down menu…..
Click on the Playlist you would like to view.
Share your PlaylistIt is possible to share you Playlist with other people. Click on ‘Share’…..
…..you can then share your Playlist by email or as a link.
In order to share, your list must be ‘Public’, so do not ‘Make private’.
And finally…..…..you can keep up-to-date with new training videos that might interest you. Click here and select ‘Recommended’….
…select the subjects that interest you and any new training videos will then be displayed on the Lynda.com home page every time you log in.
