Horror film locationsHorror films are usually set in abandoned, isolated, dark/ gloomy/ shadowy
environments, where people would rarely visit. The setting could also be haunted by an event which occurred in the past.
Common locations used for horror are-
• A dark forest
• Haunted or abandoned house
• Deserted village or town
• A Grave yard
•A old hospital
I have looked at different horror films to get ideas of locations
Inside houses/ private buildings
Horror films set in houses and private buildings are scary as they are usually
quite isolated and not many people are about. This
means that if they were being attacked or haunted no one would happen to
pass by or know that they are in trouble to save them.

Horror films set in woods are creepy because woods are usually dark, shadowy, gloomy areas. The woods are usually a big area and there are many trees and bushes for killers to hide
behind before jumping out and attacking their victims. The woods are also usually
quiet and isolated so no one is likely to hear their cry.
