You Are THE BEST!
You are an elite group within this school.
WBL is a SELECTIVE program, not an ELECTIVE program
It is a privilege to get to participate in the WBL program.
You represent young adults, your families, LSHS and Douglas County Schools in our community...
If you mess up, there is an AP Class or other classes waiting for you……
Before the Rules…
WBL IS . . . An on-the-job
experience, where students will gain exposure in a career area of their choice to help in planning for their future.

WBL GRADE CALCULATION
GeorgiaBEST CERTIFICATION The monthly activities that you will complete
this year are aligned with the GeorgiaBEST certification program which is sponsored by the Georgia Department of Labor.
GeorgiaBEST is a program designed to raise awareness of the soft skills needed in the workforce.
Successful completion of the WBL Monthly Activities will make you eligible to receive a GeorgiaBEST certificate which can potentially make you more marketable to employers and higher education institutions.
SCHOOLOGY
Schoology will be used to access the self-directed, independent-study WBL curriculum.
All instructions and supplemental materials for the WBL Monthly Activities are located on Schoology.
As you finish the monthly activities, you will submit your completed work through Schoology.
The only hard copies (paper copies) that you will submit to me will be: completed work reports, employer evaluations, and required documentation/forms.
WBL DUE DATES• A WBL Due Dates sheet is located in Schoology
and lists the due dates for the following graded items:
• Required Documentation• Monthly WBL Activities• Monthly Work Reports• Employer Evaluation• Monthly Meetings – MANDATORY
We will meet once a month (usually the first Thursday or Friday of each month) during your WBL period. You will only need to attend one of the meetings per meeting date. These are points you do not want to lose…make sure you are at EVERY meeting!!

KEY REMINDERS You must leave campus at your scheduled
time. Transportation is your responsibility. Be sure to sign in OR out at the sign in
sheet that is located in front of the attendance office. You will lose points and/or face disciplinary consequences if you do not sign in OR out CONSISTENTLY!!
