Weareinoureighthweekofoff-seasonforthesecondsemester!Ourathletesareworkinghardintheclassroomandintheweightroom.Wearepreparingforthethirdphaseofouroff-seasonprogramming,withacontinuedemphasisonhypertrophy(massbuilding).

Ourstudentathletes’bodycompositionsarebeginningtochangeduringtheseearlystagesofhypertrophytraining.Thevolumephasesoftrainingareverygruelingasthevolumeandtimeundertensionareveryhigh.

WewouldliketocongratulateeightofourseniorsthatrecentlysignedNationalLettersofIntenttoextendtheirathleticcareers.WewouldalsoliketothankeachoftheseyoungmenformovingourprogramforwardduringtheircareersatBixbyHighSchool.

(FebruaryUpdatecontinuedfrompg.1)importantfor“continuouseducation”forhighschoolfootballcoaches.Continuousimprovementisapillarofourprogram,andthatcertainlyappliestoourcoachingstaff,aswellasourplayers.Werecentlyhostedour10thannualfreeWednesdaynightclinicinBixbyandhadtwoexcellentspeakers:BeauTrahanandLukeOlsonfromtheUniversityofTulsa.CoachTrahanisthequarterbacks’coachandcoveredsqueezeandbunchformations.CoachOlsoncoveredTulsa’sthreesafetypackage.Additionally,ourstaffhasattendedandpresentedatnumerouscoachingclinicsalreadythisspring.AttendingandspeakingattheseclinicsallowsthemtonetworkanddeveloprelationshipswiththebestcoachesintheUnitedStates.Itisimperativethateveryoneinourprogramisconstantlytryingtoimproveandfindbetteravenuestoaccomplishourmission.Our11thannualFoundationsprogramisupandrunning.Wehaveanexcellentgroupofbothelementaryandmiddleschoolathletesparticipating.WorkoutstakeplaceonMondays,TuesdaysandThursdays.OurFoundationsprogramteachesourathletespropermovementpatterns,andintroducesourathletestothestrengthculturethatissoevidentinBixbySpartanAthletics.Finally,wewouldliketothankeveryoneforbelievinginthefoundationofBixbySpartanFootball.WerecentlyvotedinournewQuarterbackClubboardpositionsandareactivelyrecruitingnewcommitteevolunteers.Weencourageyoutobecomeactiveandvolunteer!WehavethebestQBCinOklahomabecausewehavegreatvolunteers!fyouareinterestedpleasecontactTimWilliams,ournewQBCpresident,attcwilliams228@cox.netorlmontgomery@bixbyps.org.Sincerely,CoachMontgomery
