Leh-Ladakh – The strategically Important Part of Jammu & Kashmir

Leh is a beautiful city in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Currently the region extends from Kuen Lun Mountain range to great Himalayas to the south. The region is inhabited by Indo-Aryan and Tibetan people. The region is light populated in Jammu and Kashmir. The history and the culture of the region is closely related with the Tibetan history. In the past Ladakh got importance from its deliberate locations at the cross road of important trade routes.

But in 1960 the chinese authority closed the border with central Asia resulted in decreasing of international trade except tourism.
