It broke our hearts to lose you
A part of us went with you.
If tears could build a stairway
And heartaches make a lane
We’d walk our way to Heaven
And bring you back again.
In life we loved you dearly
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you had a place
No one could ever fill.
I love you My Donny

In Loving Memory Of
Donny Lynn LaFontaine ♥
Donny was born to Ann and Albert LaFontaine on Wednesday,
January 21, 1959, in The Pas, Manitoba.
Donny’s journey began from his home in Wanless, on Wednesday,
October 9, 2019, at the age of 60 years.
Donny was the youngest of 3 children. He did his schooling in The
Pas and worked at odd jobs including masonry work. Donny often reflected on
his very first job, shoe shining outside The Pas hotels as a young boy.
Eventually, Donny attended Red River College in Winnipeg taking
masonry training to formalize his education around his trade. After a period of
time working in various communities performing masonry work, Donny
returned to The Pas where he began working at the Pulp and Paper Mill.
An unexpected motorcycle accident change Donny’s work path in
which he was unable to return to the Mill.
It was at that time he decided to go to Minnedosa to attend a Classic
Rock concert where he met Chandralin. Donny knew after 3 days he wanted to
know Chandralin more, so he began asking friends how to contact her. He
would visit periodically watching her cooking, canning and baking. On his next
trip back to the city, he wanted to surprise her with something more than
flowers and chocolates, so Donny loaded up his truck with vegetables, fruits,
fish, moose meat and jugs of fresh spring water from friends in the valley and
in Wanless. He then set out to see Chandralin. Over the next few months
Donny would come and go from The Pas to Winnipeg, visiting, until they,
together, decided to begin their relationship. After about a year and a half,
Donny invited her to relocate and live with him in The Pas. Later purchasing a
home together and residing in Wanless.
After 9 years, Donny asked Chandralin to make it official and they
were married September 22, 2007.
Later after a period of time of treatments and therapies he began to
work at Murray Dunn Motors as a Car Detailer. Donny really enjoyed being
able to get back into the workforce. After several years due to medical reasons,
Donny retired from work.
Donny loved to hunt and fish, but his real passion was his motorcycles.
Over the years he participated in many bike rallies and poker derbies. Together
Donny and Chandralin also hosted many poker derbies from their home.
Donny loved visiting with family and friends, sharing stories and
having lots of laughs.
Donny is survived by his wife Chandralin; son Jeffrey; daughter
Michelle; stepchildren Alicia, Maegan and Chase; brother Dennis; sister
Shirley; and numerous relatives and many friends.
My Donny will always be missed and we will talk about him often, he
will never be forgotten.
