We have learnt about
FACTORS in the last lecture.
It’s time for us to take it to a new
level.
Let’s try to learn
some new concepts today!
Multiples
What is a multiple?
The result of multiplying a number by an integer (not a fraction).
In the multiplication table, we can see that
3 6 9 12 15 18 21 24 27 30Therefore, 12 is a multiple of 3,
because 3 × 4 = 12
But 7 is NOT a multiple of 3
Factors and Multiples
• Factors and multiples are associated with multiplication.
• Factors are what you can multiply to get a number.
• Multiples are what you get after multiplying a number by an integer.
3 x 4 = 12factors multiple
