It is with heavyhearts that we an-nounce the passingof Gudela (Judy)Hentschel on Au-gust 5th at Moun-tain Lake Seniors
Community in Nel-son. Judy was bornin Mufundi, Tan-zania, the youngestof three children.She had many fondmemories of herchildhood on a cof-fee and tea plan-tation. Her familywas forced to return
to Germany duringWorld War II. Judy even-tually took an agriculturecourse, then later moved toCanada and received train-ing as a practical nurse inSarnia, Ontario.
Judy was baptized as oneof Jehovahs Witnesses in1963. She moved to Kasloin 1978, where she becameknown for her loving gen-erosity. She lived a verymodest, environmentallyfriendly lifestyle, nurturingher small garden, teach-ing others about the Bi-bles promise of Paradise,and providing a livingdemonstration of realChristian love.
Judy is survived by herloving brother, Hartfried, inSarnia, Ontario, and a niecein Germany. She will be sin-cerely missed by her familyof fellow believers through-out British Columbia.
A memorial service washeld at the Kingdom Hall ofJehovahs Witnesses in Nel-son, on August 9th.

Call for 2014 Project ProposalsThe Grassland and Rangeland Enhancement Program (GREP)provides funds to persons and organizations wishing to carryout activities on Crown Land that will enhance Rangeland andGrassland values.
The program is funded by the Columbia Basin Trust andadministered locally by the Kootenay Livestock Association.
The GREP is currently accepting project proposals for consid-eration for the remainder of 2014 and for the upcoming 2015funding year.
The overriding purpose of the Grassland and Rangeland En-hancement Program is to maintain and/or enhance grasslandresources while meeting conservation, environmental andrecreational objectives.
Some examples of projects funded to date under the GREPinclude rangeland fences, protection of wetlands, innovativegates and cattle-guards, restoration of damaged areas, inter-pretive and educational signs and invasive plant management.
Applications are open to associations or societies, individuals,range tenure holders or partnerships across the ColumbiaBasin Region.
